Feral Interactive, the absolute monster when it comes to big Linux game ports is asking what you want to see again.
You all know Feral by now, they've ported HITMAN, F1 2017, Mad Max, Dawn of War III, Life is Strange, XCOM, XCOM 2, DiRT Rally and many more seriously good games to Linux. On top of that, they still have an existing teaser up that they haven't yet announced, all we know is that it's coming to Linux.
On Twitter, they asked this recently:
It’s a New Year full of new possibilities! If you could only have one new game for macOS, Linux or mobile in 2018, which one would it be? And why? We can’t promise that your dreams will come true, but the best answers will star in our email newsletter.
Naturally, Feral lurk in our comments, so feel free to post here as well as I'm sure they will be taking note.
For me personally, I would like a new open-world game that I can travel around and sink plenty of hours into. Something to allow time to fade away and forget about all lifes problems.
So—what do you want Feral to bring to Linux next?
This is not fair, Aladdin had three wishes!!! That means we have to outsmart him.
Well I would wish "Lost Vikings" from silicone and synapse. I know that I can run it on dosbox, but native would be so good, so much better. Still is my favorite game ever and it could be the best evolution at the moment for Linux gaming, having another big name supporting us.
I would also love for Skyrim to come to Linux. I want to play through it again and play with mods, but I simply don't live in Windows and Skyrim is one of the games I sacrificed.
It would be really great to get one of the battle royale style games, like PUBG or Fortnite or the mod for ArmaIII, ported to Linux. We are lacking in this area.
Hellblade. I hear from friends and others that this is a really well done experience.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands and The Division. I primarily buy Ubisoft games for PS4 because they've given me bad networking troubles on Windows years ago and they rarely show up for Linux.
Dark Souls II. I've already beaten the other two on other platforms and I want to play through this one. I already own it on Steam (Windows) from a Humble Bundle.
I believe there is much to gain for Feral in that genre on Linux. More importantly for me, I believe games with those player concurrent player count leads to more people giving Linux a try. With more people using Linux means more games ported to Linux. Which means I have more games to choose between on my platform. And really, we just want me to play more games, right?
Oh, and I will buy and play PUBG or Fortnite if they were on Linux.
Final Fantasy XIV - mostly because I already play this one, but also because it makes sense with an existing Mac port. Plus Squeenix is getting friendlier with Tux these days.
Any or all of the Rocksteady Batman games (Arkham Asylum/City/Knight)
Burnout Paradise
Wolfenstein (Old Blood/New Order) and Wolfenstein II

For all those millions of Chinese players with pirated Windows 7.
At first it sounds funny but if chinese players learn that you don't need a pirated Windows to play PUBG then I see lots of new Linux users and therefore lots of new customers for new Feral Linux ports.
This sounds really interesting. I second that. Feral would just need to make sure the performance of the port is on par or even better (that should make some non-China players consider moving to Linux as well).
Wow, thinking of it is like dreaming.
Quoting: JahimselfMy wishlist would be some game that I could play multiplayer with friends, or some of the ultimate pc title, which make the best use of hardware, and also have good narration behind it:
Solo:
-Witcher 3
-GTA V
-NieR Automata
-Shadow Warrior 2
-Half Life 3 (just kidding)
-Rayman Origins & Legends
-Prince of Persia trilogy mac & linux
Multi:
-Age of Empires 2, age of empires 1 DE & Age of Empires 4
-Rainbow Six Siege
-Quake Champions
-PUGB
-Killing Floor 2
Prince of Persia trilogy!!!
