You're in for a treat. CKII and PoE are 2 of the best games available for Linux. I've lost hundreds of hours to them. What a bargain!

Just reread the Liam review of Stellaris but after looking at some steam review I'm a little afraid/scared about the "lost hours". And there is PoE also...

Oh boy.. one of my favorite companies.. their DLC pricing strategy needs some changes but I love many of their products. Crusader kings 2 and Stellaris are REALLY nice ( especially CK2 <3 ). Very good bundle!
PS: I might sound like an idiot but I had no idea we had that "sales page" !!! Nice work Liam!

I already have all of them. But don't have the time to play them! Just learning CKII takes a ton of time.
Magicka is a blast though! Easily one of the most entertaining co-op games I've played.

Shame they didnt put Pillars of Eternity as DRM-free even with Obsidian selling it DRM-free on GOG
If it's DRM-free it's DRM-free on steam as well. You just have to (or not) download it using their client.
Btw, for Stellaris, is it only the base game?

Magicka is a blast though! Easily one of the most entertaining co-op games I've played.
Magicka 1 is blast. Magicka 2, is, well, uh... something is missing there.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of games that are available DRM free on GOG or Humble that are DRM'ed on Steam.

So are the base games for PoE, CK III and Stellaris worth it? I haven't got a lot of budget for DLC so if I decide to get this (I haven't got any of those games right now) I'll be sticking with the basics for the foreseeable future.

You can have fun with CKII for a while, but currently you really need to have at least several DLCs. But I haven't played CK for a while, so maybe it is different from Stellaris and EU, where without DLCs, it is quite bland. Stellaris is currently quite bland, I would wait till they release Cherryh update, maybe it will finally be better? But some changes are really stupid.
As for PoE, I would say no. PoE sucks. It is not very RPGish. You don't have freedom. Everything is locked down.

Ok, I stand corrected. I only remember Starbounds which was advertised as DRM-free, and it is on steam.

I disagree. I had tons of fun approaching the same situations differently. I'm on my 4th playthrough of the base game at the moment. The real-time combat is admittedly a bit strange, and you will learn to press SPACE a lot, but i think it's definetly enjoyable if you enjoy games like XCOM or Wasteland 2.

Real-time combat is not strange, is quite standard given BG and so, NW and so, Tyranny and plethora of other games. Real-time with pause (which is in some TB-like RTS as well) makes fights much faster, while not taking much from depth.
Killing goblin on high level would take a lot of time since combat needs to switch to TB. Doing the same in RT with pause takes almost no time, since you can just run to the goblin and kill him in RT. No need to initialize special combat. This makes the whole experience more unified.
Problem with PoE is retarded stats and no exps with number of boring enemies (at least at start, shades are everywhere), multitude of stun/charm enemies and slow down in combat. This significantly reduce your possibilities and playstyles, without getting anything in reward.
They learned a lot from it and tried to make it better in Tyranny, which while is an improvement, it far from perfect (or even what I would call "good", it is serviceable, Tyranny have more problem with imbalance in forced encounters where you can have serious difficulty spikes, and inability to save at certain points).
They just have problem creating a good RPG system.

I'd heartily disagree, which just goes to show we all have different tastes!
I found PoE gave a lot more freedom than the old games like BG or IWD. I have the expansions but haven't played those yet. The base game had enough to keep me going for ages and I enjoyed working through many of the side quests and approaching problems in different ways. Maybe I was lucky, but I felt I could play my character the way I wanted.
As for CKII, even the base game is more than sufficient for a ton of fun. I really like the Old Gods DLC (which is bundled in the deal, I think) because I can play on my own turf as the Kingdom of Strathclyde, which had been subsumed by the starting date of the base game. There are a couple of DLCs which genuinely enhance the game but none are essential.
