Always on the look-out for new games, today I came across Algo Bot [Steam]. A story-based puzzle game where you're trying to contain a crisis on a colonization ship. It looks like quite a treat for fans of puzzle games, especially since it pulls in aspects of programming.

The game released earlier last month and as of a few days ago they added Linux support! It was developed by Fishing Cactus, who're known for the rather nice Epistory - Typing Chronicles that also support Linux. So it's great to see them continue supporting Linux with new games.

"Story-based puzzle game pulling in aspects of programming" sounds perfect. Anybody played it?

I haven’t played it (yet) but french independent magazine Canard PC (PC gaming) gives Algo Bot a good rating (Canard PC n° 377)! :)

what a disappointment: this game doesn't support intel graphic..would have been nice to do on laptop in a bed or in transports. :(

Did you think I don't religiously check every damn news post on this site anyway? :P

Of course you're right, I am interested. I didn't have anything interesting to say, but I am one of the two (as of now) people to have "liked" the article.

Indeed! All I need to know now is that this game is not too easy. :P

I don't mind easy if it's fun. Sometimes thinking is just too damn hard.

I bought it yesterday and played 3 1/2 hours. The graphics are very good for such a game (praise the engines making this easier than ever), story is... well, not the central point I guess. It has got handy input methods (place mouse above last instruction place and just press short keys), especially compared to Glitchspace which I tried the day before and have given up upon. Difficulty is not so hard (yet), except if you want to reach the target instruction numbers. Nice game, I'm looking forward to playing the rest.
