In FoxTail [GOG, Steam], you play as a young fox named Leah who goes on a journey to find a cure for her grandmother. It's now out in Early Access with a Linux version.

FoxTail has had a bit of a turbulent history, with a failed Kickstarter and an IndieGoGo that didn't do particularly well either. Shame, but good to see the developer didn't give up hope.

FoxTail is a classic point-and-click quest. Drawing inspiration from the old pixel adventure games of the middle 90's, we create an atmospheric and spectacular world without using sophisticated modern technologies.
FoxTail is about a cute, young fox named Leah who goes on a journey to find a cure for her grandmother. Along her life changing trip she explores forests, swamps and caves, gets acquainted with various creatures and helps them in their needs.
She also reveals the secrets of her grandfather's mystical past...
We will hold off on an actual review for when it's finished, but after giving it a run I was pretty happy by it. It has a really nice and calming atmosphere with some charming music. What's most surprising is the artwork and animations, it's beautiful and smooth and the character animations are simply wonderful.
I think I'm going to enjoy this, but it's one to really play through when it's finished I think. The problem is the developer doesn't make it clear how much of the game is actually in there, especially on Steam as their Early Access explanation section is just a poem, while sweet it's quite unhelpful. They did post on their GOG forum that only the first chapter is currently available—something they need to make clear on the actual store pages.

The only reason I'd play an unfinished adventure game would be if I was beta testing it. And I don't pay for beta access.
If it only entertains me for a little while the it's worth it.
EDIT: i have now played thru the first part of the game that's available.
The game runs great and i had no problems and everything works which is good since it's an Early Access game.
In it's current form the game is a bit short but that's the thing that is supposed to be added in future updates.
It took me a little more then 4 hours to play what's available now and i think that if i played it thru now once i know everything i could do it in an hour.
I liked it very much and i look forward to the rest of the game.
I feel that even in it's current form it was worth what i paid for it.
