Can games bought from Humble Bundle be downloaded directly or are they just Steam keys, nowdays?

Can games bought from Humble Bundle be downloaded directly or are they just Steam keys, nowdays?Depends, it's on a per-game basis and depends on the developer putting up a DRM free build.
Humble Store notes DRM free specifically if it has it.

I see, thanks. After a little digging I found a filter for DRM-free at the store.

Grabbed the Amnesia games, and I'm looking forward to trying them out. I really want to like them; it would mean I could re-examine the horror genre of video games as a whole, which in turn would mean more games available for me to play.
As it stands, however, my play-style puts me at odds with most horror video games. It's not that they couldn't scare me---I'm sure they could---but a several decades watching horror movies has taught me:
and playing horror video games always seem to require I ignore some or all of these.
Still, free's free, and the Amnesia games are said to be classics of the genre. I'll try and role-play a horror movie character, I'll try and play a stupid people for the sake of a good scare. ;)

- Don't ghost hunt.
- Don't go into abandoned buildings, especially abandoned hospitals and asylums.
- Don't take shortcuts through woods, swamps, or sewers.
- Don't investigate strange sounds.
- Don't kiss, fuck, or do anything in-between when monsters and murderers are about.
- Don't assume a monster/murderer is dead until you curb-stomp its head and/or dismember it.
- Don't go back for anybody. Ever.
- Never split up.
- And never ever go anywhere without a weapon, no matter how makeshift, arm yourself with something.
- Stupid people die.

You'll be happy to hear you don't have to break this rule (among others). ;)
No, seriously: If you manage not to overthink it, you might have a great time.

Frictional Games have made some seriously creepy games, first came the Penumbra series, then the Amnesia games & most recently SOMA. If you haven't got them grab them now, you'll never have a good night's sleep again. ;)

ASTROKILL just confirmed something I was pretty sure of, I'm rubbish at any type of flying or driving game, I can't even get past the first tutorial. hahaha Gimme a standard FPS shooter, stealth or platformer game any day.

Fanatical (used to be Bundlestars) has a nice-ish Starter Bundle (with Slain, Toren, Dungeons II - all work on Linux) and provides Steam keys.
Another decent bundle is this one: TinyBuild Party bundle, with a very good proportion of Linux games.
I bought the Indie Legends 7 bundle - which now seems to have ended - specifically for Kingdom Rush Frontiers, which I've installed and it has been playing great on Linux at 4K resolution.

Don't think that, it uses newtonian physics which is really difficult at the beginning, but this is a highly trainable skill with a LOT of capacity for exploitation, the least of it is you getting impulse to go in a tangent to a target and using your momentum to turn without diverting your path and shred it to pieces with your guns.I'm not giving up yet, I tried again earlier & while I still got my backside handed to me by the game I have managed to exact a small measure of revenge on the ship that keeps killing me by taking out one of it's guns, I just need a lot more practice.
I failed that first mission about ~50 times before I got good at it. After that, I cannot help but regard it as "too easy". Insist some more, and you'll get great satisfaction for doing it.
