After being in Beta since early February, the Linux version of Full Metal Furies has today become official. Myself and Samsai did a livestream of it earlier on our official Twitch channel and we found it to be rather good. It's quite intense and difficult in parts, with some rather interesting mechanics at play.
There's four different characters to pick from, with each of them having a specific role and special abilities. All of these abilities can be swapped as you progress and find special relics in chests and upgraded, as well as spending gold on upgrading your character statistics. Since there's four characters, you can play it in local and online co-op with up to four people. Single-player is also possible, with you picking two characters that you're able to swap between.
In our testing, we had no problems joining each other online. However, currently it does have a problem with serious performance drops in certain sections of the game. We're talking where it will drop down to 20FPS or even 10FPS and it does become quite unplayable. I've sent the developer a note on this for them to look into it. Aside from that, we didn't encounter any other issues.
We should have some more thorough thoughts up once they sort out the performance. It wouldn't be fair to give it anything more thorough until that's sorted. From what we've been able to play so far though, I'm impressed by the actual gameplay.
You can grab it from Humble Store to support us a little or direct from Steam.
