Hand of Fate 2, the excellent dungeon crawler that mixes up card-based travel with real-time combat finally adds the promised Endless Mode.

See more: My original thoughts on Hand of Fate 2.

In my original post, I said it was "an absolute blast" and that's certainly still true. Testing it out again today and it still works beautifully on Linux, the combat is so fun with the special moves and varied equipment it keeps me entertained for hours. It's a fantastic game and now it's even better! You can now jump back in any time with the Endless Mode and face the scoreboard. Although, you do need to have completed five of the challenges to enable this new mode.

In addition to the whole new way to play, they've also added in 50 new collectable shard tokens to encounters and equipment, new and old. You can then use them to unlock new customisations, supply loadouts, utility encounters and artefacts. So there's going to be some fun stuff for those who've already put many hours into it.

Defiant Development have some DLC content planned for Hand of Fate 2 and they say any future content will be compatible with the new Endless Mode too.

You can grab it now from GOG (affiliate link) and Steam. If you still haven't picked up a copy, you're really missing out.

The Linux game binaries haven't been updated for a while although the GOG version log claims otherwise. There is something wrong over there.

We should be releasing the Linux version of this today :)

Sorry about the delay on our end, we got one update for the Endless mode and then another one came in quick on the heels of the first one :)
