Not enough RPGs on Linux for you? Last Epoch [Official Site], a loot-based action RPG that involves time travel is coming to Linux.
It's currently on Kickstarter, where the developer is hoping to get at least $210K in funding with $53K already pledged. They have around 24 days to go so they have plenty of time to gather funding.
You can see a preview of it with their Kickstarter video below:

Here's what it will feature:
- Offline and online multiplayer action
- Time travel and high fantasy world
- 5 base classes that advance into 10 powerful mastery classes
- A deep skill system with augment trees for each skill
- Engrossing loot and crafting system
- Massive end-game content and replayability, trading, PvP, Cycles(seasons), Ladders, and Achievements
- Epic storytelling, memorable characters and environments, voice acting, journals, and hidden secrets
In regards to the time travel aspect of it, the developer said:
Throughout the story, you will travel to four distinct eras in time and see how each zone changes throughout the ages, each change bearing lore implications that will keep you invested in the setting.
Sadly, the demo they currently have is Windows-only. The good news is that they seem committed to the Linux build, with their Community Manager sending out a Twitter post about testing the game on Linux. They've been testing it on an AMD system, with them discovering the Unity double-input bug.
They utilize a unity launcher where you can select resolution, checkbox for windowed mode, monitor selector etc.
I've only had time to play it for about 10 minutes, but so far everything seems to work fine except a small graphical glitch on the ground. Performance is not that great when there are multiple enemies on screen at the same time, dipped down to about 15 fps at some point. But in town I got around 40-50 fps, with a quick dip down to 36 at one point.
I'm on a i5 3570k, 16gb ram and a RX 480. Developers say the demo is quite gpu intensive and I can confirm mine was at 100% basicly all the time.
For a pre-alpha I'm pretty impressed they managed to get a Linux build up and running and performing decent.
Looks like I'll be backing this on Kickstarter!
Quoting: hercPerformance is not that great when there are multiple enemies on screen at the same time, dipped down to about 15 fps at some point.I noticed that in the video. Performance looked marginal. But it is still in development, so hopefully they'll get things sorted out in time for release.
It otherwise looks pretty decent. Maybe we'll finally get our native Linux Diablo 3 killer.

Anyway, the gameplay looks really good. Looks like a game I'd have a lot of fun playing.
Diablo 3 killer? I guess I didn't know we were waiting for one.
Quoting: 14Diablo 3 killer? I guess I didn't know we were waiting for one.Well, I have been. I just haven't found anything that's as fun and addictive as Diablo 3. Torchlight 2 isn't bad. Victor Vran has its charm. But Diablo 3 is the one I keep returning to.
