Like driving around blowing people up in vehicles? How about a game that's free? Get Wrecked [Steam] might be worth a look for you.

It's pretty darn rough, but even so it's actually somewhat amusing. It's nowhere near as bad as I expected, given that it's a fresh-faced and unfinished free to play title.

You start off with a rather old Ford T1, which has pretty terrible speed and weight capacity and it's just awful. However, getting "bolts" the in-game currency is surprisingly easy and levelling up is pretty quick too. You then use these bolts to purchase items (weapons, defences) to attach to your vehicle or buy a new vehicle. The attachment system is also quite amusing, since you can attach stuff in such random places your vehicle ends up looking quite silly like so:

The main problem right now is the matchmaking. It will put completely new players in with people driving extremely fortified trucks that are essentially a driving fortress, meaning death is only a few seconds away. However, getting kills is still reasonably easy and I've had no problem getting new cars and weapons, along with some hilarious toilet roll armour.

I also encountered some issues where vehicles would get stuck on a small hill, I ended up trying to help someone by pushing them up but naturally I fudged it up and we both got stuck:

Thankfully, you can opt to leave your vehicle which will destroy it, so you need to wait for the respawn timer. A little annoying, something they're going to need to iron out.

As for the in-game shop, you're able to buy golden bolts which can then be used to buy a premium account much like what Robocraft does. This will give you extra XP and normal bolts when finishing a match, I haven't really seen any pay to win rubbish yet since everything I've seen so far can be gained just by playing it.

It shows some promise, will keep an eye on it.
