Stellaris: Distant Stars story DLC pack releases May 22nd, new trailer is out

The latest and probably one of the most exciting story DLC packs for Stellaris, Distant Stars, is now set to release May 22nd.

In short, there's going to be a lot more to find when you go exploring. One of the problems I repeatedly talked about with Stellaris (even though I do love it) was that it just didn't have enough content. This pack seems like it will fix that problem and then some. They say there's around 50% more anomalies to discover, they've also improved some of the originals. There's three new leviathans, new types of stars and something about discovering a constellation outside our own galaxy.

The last big patch to Stellaris seems to have caused quite a stir, as the Steam reviews have dropped to "Mostly Negative", although it's still showing as "Mostly Positive" overall. Personally, I've found it to be a better game since the big 2.0 updated but I do understand why people think the opposite too. Very much looking forward to this DLC, should have thoughts up around the release.

The main issue I've had with the current version of the game is the buggy multiplayer. As your games go on, more and more players will start to desync from the game. This seems to be exacerbated by using the game speed fast forward option, which is pretty much always gonna be above normal game speed. These desyncs can happen for any players except the host, and can cause a lot of gamebreaking issues (can't build structure on planets, can't queue any ships, your existing ships won't respond to commands, diplomacy/trading breaks altogether). The only way to fix these problems is to disconnect and reconnect, which takes a long time, or have the host rehost the lobby. Both solutions are only temporary fixes though and you are almost guaranteed to desync again. The game is fun to play when it works, but it breaks way too often to enjoy a longer session. I really hope the desync problems get fixed, as I do really enjoy playing the game with friends; when it works, that is.
