For those of you wanting to get into another MMO but you prefer all your stuff through Steam, keep an eye out on May 16th as Albion Online will be appearing then.

Everyone will still be on the same server, so it doesn't really matter if you buy it directly or through Steam.

They said they're also coming with achievements, which is also being added into the native Albion Online client for those not on Steam. Nice to see them do this, as I'm sure some of you here are achievement hunters. At the Steam release, Albion Online will be having a celebration event where all players can earn 25% more "Fame", their version of experience points.

To celebrate, they've also released a new trailer:

I wanted to like this game, but the first problem I had with it is the pathing. This game looks like RuneScape and RuneScape was out ages ago and has auto pathing. Also pve was an afterthought?

I bailed on this game as soon as I realized it was just DOTA with more steps. With that on top of them requiring you to repurchase the game to get it on Steam, I doubt I'll be returning.

I have some steam credit I've been saving, plus there is a flatpak for this. Gotta support the vendors that make native MMO's for *Nix or we'll never get any triple a ones. Hope I don't regret this.

I could be inclined to buy it once it's on Steam. At least one major barrier is down.
