The awesome DXVK project for Vulkan D3D11 in Wine has another fresh release out and it's a pretty good one.
Once again, I'm shocked by how quickly it has been releasing updates and solving issues. Considering it's mostly by one person, it's mind-boggling how far it has come in such a short amount of time. Anyway…here's what's new on 0.54.
Improvements
- Improved performance on AMD cards by making use of host-visible device-local memory
- Improved GPU utilization and rendering latency in situations with a low number of draw calls
- Added support for Vsync with half refresh rate and lower
Bug fixes
- Fixed regression introduced in v0.53 leading to invalid SPIR-V shaders in The Witcher 3
- Fixed shader compilation failure in Pillars of Eternity II (#408) and Lost Sphear (#406)
- Fixed crash in Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition (#407)
- Fixed possible visual issues in Elex caused by non-functional depth-to-color image copies
- Fixed Vulkan validation errors for typeless multisample resolve operations
- Fixed Gamma issue with Unreal Engine 4 games on the RADV driver
- Removed redundant Vulkan API calls
On top of this, something I missed recently was the announcement of another project named DXUP. It's a D3D10 -> D3D11 translation layer, which can be used together with DXVK—clever stuff!

With the patch for radv (06d3c65098097675a34035da3043a71061fad17b) that was recently committed to mesa master which fixes the freezes with tw3 and gtav dxvk (#252) is pretty impressive.

I'm particularly interested in that fix for Elex, does this mean the game is now free from graphical errors? If possible could anyone retest it, I've been wanting to play this for a while.

You can type in other DXVK versions into Lutris. If it's available it will be downloaded on start (0.53 works, not sure about 0.54, will test tonight).

How can I get DXVK 0.54 to show up on Lutris? Lutris is still on 0.52 at the moment
Or do I have to wait for Lutris people to update it?
You can just type "0.54" in the DXVK version field.

On my system (AMD RX 580 with Mesa 18.0.4 and wine-staging-nine 3.9), game still has those blocky edges around trees (this bug: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/289, that is now corrected in Mesa-git and will go in Mesa 18.1), performance is better than previous version, also occasional flickering when staying into vegetation nearly disappeared.
Still no look running Sleeping Dogs: all I get is a white screen :(
EDIT: yes, you can play the game without problems! :D

Elex is a strange RPG: to farm experience points you don't have to fight, but simply do the quests. Avoid fights until you have earned enough XP, levelled up and bought good equipment. Then, begin the massacre! :)

Also, has anyone tested Tekken 7 on this latest version of DXVK? I'm hoping the graphical bugs on a few of the stages have been fixed, the game is SO damn close to being 100% perfect under wine aside from those graphical bugs on some of the stages
Lutris people its one dude Matthew commandant find him hanging out on linux game cast in the chat so if you cant submit an error code to him you can always find there user name is Stryder
