I do find it odd they didn't give it an "Enhanced Edition" name, similar to what others do since it does have a bunch of improvements over the original like these:
- Support for high resolutions, and widescreen
- Improved gameplay and level design
- OpenGL for video backend to provide portability and support for vertical sync
- Dynamic lighting, bloom, FXAA, enhanced water effects, lights shafts and more
- Ability to freely rebind all keyboard, mouse, and gamepad inputs
- Steam Achievements
I've tested it myself and it does run really nicely, but that's to be expected really as it was ported to Linux by Ryan "Icculus" Gordon.
Currently available on Steam and it's 75% off during the Summer Sale—bargain!

This has been under my radar since the announcement. I'll have to wait until I'm able to buy this. Just in time for the summer sale and the Jurassic World movie.

I'd love to check it out on my Kaby Lake U, should run easily. Last port fromm Icculus I tried on this system is Prey, which runs like a charm.

Not yet. It usually takes a little longer as GOG goes through their own testing on any build submitted to the store. Of course the developer hasn't officially stated the LInux version is coming to GOG, they also haven't said it isn't. There is a thread on the forum for the GOG version of Turok about the Linux version so I would recommend making your voice heard there.
