Be ready to face the dinos as your friendly neighbourhood DRM free store have just today added the Linux version on Turok. The folks at GOG sent over a copy and it does seem to work as expected.
This isn't the old Turok either, this is the revamped version from Night Dive Studios that was ported to Linux by Ryan "Icculus" Gordon.
The jist of what's in this newer edition:
- Support for high resolutions, and widescreen
- Improved gameplay and level design
- OpenGL for video backend to provide portability and support for vertical sync
- Dynamic lighting, bloom, FXAA, enhanced water effects, lights shafts and more
- Ability to freely rebind all keyboard, mouse, and gamepad inputs

Find it on GOG now.
Once Turok 2 is out of Beta for Linux, hopefully then GOG will also get the Linux version of that up.

That's cool, but things would be far more simple if GOG finally accepted to port their Galaxy client to our dear GNU/Linux.

Their installer is quite simple to use.

Quoting: GuestYes, sadly an open point since years and for me a reason to use mostly Steam. But what I ideally want is an easy to use open source client to manage my game library and to start the games.
That's the reason I'm not going to use Galaxy even if they'll release it for Linux, until community will develop an open alternative. Such clients should be open source.

Quoting: Guest16€ for such an old game! Well that helps me decide not to buy it :) (I probably wouldn’t play it if I bought it anyway.)While Turok may be old, but at the same time they re-wrote the entire engine in order to correct some of the game's weaknesses...
