Not to be outdone by Snap packages, Flatpak's are also getting in on the fun so you can also now get Xonotic from Flathub.
Xonotic is an addictive, arena-style first person shooter with crisp movement and a wide array of weapons. It combines intuitive mechanics with in-your-face action to elevate your heart rate. Xonotic is and will always be free-to-play. It is available under the copyleft-style GPLv3+ license.
Like Snaps, Flatpak support comes built into a few distributions like Fedora and Linux Mint, with the installation on other distributions also being quite easy. Once you have Flatpak support set up with the Flathub repository, you can install it rather easily by just hitting the install button on the game's page, or through this terminal command for those who prefer it:
flatpak install flathub org.xonotic.Xonotic
With more ways than ever to get Xonotic and keep it up to date, hopefully this will pull in more players. Naturally you can just download it from the official site too, whatever.
Hat tip to AsciiWolf.
Quoting: alien2003Awesome. One of the best FPS games I ever played. Pure high-quality shooter. No classes, no characters, no team-based bullshit
The server side Quake mod from some servers is greeeat too if you don't have Quake to play online :D
Quoting: GustyGhostInstalling it through the itch client is good enough for me. Flatpaks don't auto-update themselves, do they?
They should through gnome-software.
