It's the weekend and the sun is out, so naturally many of us will be staring at a bright screen playing the latest and greatest Linux games.

I tend to go through phases of being attached to specific games for a few weeks before utterly burning myself out on them, currently Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has managed to hook me back in. It's not exactly the newest game, but it still has such fluid and fun gameplay that there's still really nothing else like it in the shooter scene.

HITMAN is also tempted me back once more, since I've never actually gone through the Patient Zero bonus campaign. With HITMAN 2 being announced, I feel like I need to get my practice down in case Feral Interactive say they're porting it to Linux again (they sadly haven't—yet). It would be odd if they didn't, since HITMAN seemed to be quite a popular game with Linux gamers.

Caves of Qud has also been amusing me lately, such a great story maker. I won't tell you how many times I've died…

So many games, so little time. Choosing what to play does become a real issue, with an insane amount of great quality games on Linux—there's truly never been a better time for us.

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. A great game, the only thing that's missing are English subtitles for short character comments in Japanese.

I gave Desperados a try, but... while it did trigger fond memories, I don't feel like I'll play it ever again for a longer time. I'd rather use my time (if I had any) for Shadow Tactics, I think.

At the moment I'm playing Hover when I need a break from running AWS tests. I usually enjoy exploration in games and Hover allows me to do that quickly allowing me to relax a bit so I can get back to testing. :D
