It's the weekend and the sun is out, so naturally many of us will be staring at a bright screen playing the latest and greatest Linux games.

I tend to go through phases of being attached to specific games for a few weeks before utterly burning myself out on them, currently Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has managed to hook me back in. It's not exactly the newest game, but it still has such fluid and fun gameplay that there's still really nothing else like it in the shooter scene.

HITMAN is also tempted me back once more, since I've never actually gone through the Patient Zero bonus campaign. With HITMAN 2 being announced, I feel like I need to get my practice down in case Feral Interactive say they're porting it to Linux again (they sadly haven't—yet). It would be odd if they didn't, since HITMAN seemed to be quite a popular game with Linux gamers.

Caves of Qud has also been amusing me lately, such a great story maker. I won't tell you how many times I've died…

So many games, so little time. Choosing what to play does become a real issue, with an insane amount of great quality games on Linux—there's truly never been a better time for us.

What are you playing this weekend and what do you think about it?

I'll probably be looking at the backlog, sighing a lot, playing a bit of Shadowverse (Oh wine, what would I do without you.), a bit of Rocket League on the side, maybe some Battlerite too.

I'll probably play a lot of Tangledeep. It's strangely addictive, trying again and again to get a bit further up in the dungeon.

Total War: Thrones of Britannia has me hooked at the moment. I'm on my 2nd campaign, as the Vikings this time, and I'm stuck in that One-More-Turn loop

Hey, just because the weather's nice, it doesn't mean there's no time for gaming, you lightweights. :P

I finally picked up Mad Max in the Steam sale last week. It's nice to have a AAA action game to really stick my teeth into again. I've heard it compared to quite a lot of things, but nobody seems to have noticed the similarities to Avalanche's other series, Just Cause. The basic gameplay loop is the same: take over territory by blowing stuff up or demolishing it with a harpoon/grappling hook. Okay, MM has Arkham-style melée combat rather than JC's firearms, and there aren't any helicopters, planes, or boats, but I'd recommend it to any Linux gamers missing their Just Cause fix (hint, hint, Feral... ;) ). I wish I'd bought it sooner.

As a modding freak, I tend to complete my playlist; today finished Half-Life: Edge of Darkness which was short, simple but well made mission. Tonight, I will play hopefully the last Half-Life mod in my playlist; Half-Life: Chronicles - Episode One. Although, it features a .dll library which won't work with native Linux version of the base game, thankfully Xash3D FWGS is able to run Windows mods of Half-Life on Linux natively.

I've just discovered Moemon, so I've been on my Retropie this weekend. Love it!

I've been playing Killing Floor 2 through Wine a lot recently because its just mindless, metal fun. When playing with my friends I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 4, also through wine, and a lot of Payday 2 but sadly they recently broke p2p networking so looks like that's the end of that.

Just started my first playthrough of System Shock 2 and so far it's great. This is one I actually plan on finishing :P

Just got back from the vacation and I got one more day before I need to get back to office. I think I'll give Firewatch a try, hopefully it won't disappoint me.
