What are you playing this weekend?

By -

The weekend has arrived and for many of you this is likely your best time to boot up your favourite game, so what are you all playing?

The weather over here has turned for the worst, we've gone from ridiculous heat to stormy showers and so the majority of my time will likely be staring at a brightly lit screen. Naturally, that means I will be playing some awesome Linux games.

I'm likely going to be throwing out my usual experiences for something a little different—ah who I am kidding? I'm totally going to be jumping in at the deep end with Oxygen Not Included's latest update. Such an insanely engrossing game, multiple times I've loaded it up and time just gets sucked away into a black hole.

So my awesome readers, what are you clicking on this weekend?

I also just got a rabbit, so a lot of my time will be staring at it going "It's so fluffy!". I'm also 30 on Monday, so I won't be around much then for gaming.

I'll relax with a hidden object game, Endless Fables 2. Also, Return of the Tentacle seems to be worth a try.

"Where the Water Tastes Like Wine" because of the soundtrack (fabulous) and the well written stories of that unusual trip to the US during the Great Depression (not a game for everyone, but a very good one if you like listen to stories with good musics in the background)! :)

This weekend I'm playing bicycle, evening bbq with friends, with a nightly DLC containing some beers/rums/whatever will be available :)
As a bonus, I will play Transistor on Sunday evening - just bought it dirt cheap on Steam yesterday (hope there will be time)...
...as a mega bonus, I will also play a boss level of MS Team Foundation Services stuff (need to finish some work stuff before Sunday night :) )

I got a new kitten recently, maybe getting something cute and fluffy is the turning-30 equivalent of a mid-life crisis? :o

I was gifted Hearts of Iron IV the other week, so I might see if I can get into that.

Other than that, I'll be continuing my play through of Eternal Darkness.

Ahem...Rust.
And likely I'll start playing The Station.
I found a tiny package of games released specifically for the Commodore 128, so I'll try out some of those on VICE x128.

Basingstoke. It's seriously a lot of fun - and it plays quite well across the Steam streaming thingy, so I can sit in the living room with my wife instead of going to the office where my desktop sits.

Just a word of advice: Basingstoke starts with a tutorial/introduction that is really fast-paced and stressful. The actual game is a lot more deliberate, and, to me, more fun. Don't get discouraged by the interactive intro.

I'll be playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat with mods. S.T.A.L.K.E.R series are awesome. I've been playing them since 2007 and i am glad they run just fine with wine.
