Quoting: GuestInteresting, i may reinstall it to play SC2 after the xubuntu 18.04.1 rollout and a little while to let things settle out.

I must say i am impressed (and a little bit worried) by people like you who work on Week Ends.

I hope you do not end up hurting yourselves. :)

Thanks

I test in my free time (i like more test than play), my main goal is stability

Actually main problem with wine is which problems appear in large time periods: input, sound and graphics

This is a minor idea about next tests

SC2 = Starcraft 2? I am curious about that game. I was under the impression that both it and Diablo 3 had constant online DRM, but some of the posters here seem to suggest that is not the case with Starcraft 2?: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/939643-starcraft-ii-wings-of-liberty/answers/182452-can-you-play-the-game-if-you-do-not-have-an-internet-connection

I am wondering what is actually the case. There is a huge difference between a one time online authentication and costant online DRM.

It's nice to see so many games working with DXVK and thanks to your efforts I know which games work.

I suggest adding DXVK version in your tests. Instead of "DXVK_HUD=1" you need to use "DXVK_HUD=version,devinfo,fps" which produces same result but with added DXVK version number.

QuoteDo not use
There is a critical regression which causes random crashes in some games after some time. See issue #507.

Conan Exiles, settings on High. with settings on ultra it doesn't run at all for me.

My Time in Portia, it works fine as long as you leave the game in full screen. my keyboard is dead if I try to run in window mode or even if I alt+tab from full screen mode.

I had to pull the DXVK release again because users started reporting random crashes, making 0.63 completely unreliable, and I managed to run into one unexpected crash myself. Of course this kind of issue only pops up after I tag the release and not when people are actually testing it.

A possible fix is already up, but right now it is not known what exactly is going on, and no one seems to be able to consistently reproduce it.

Edit: And back up with that fix, in the hope that it actually solves the problem.

Quoting: GuestAs always it's interesting to see how many games you get running.

Are all these games DX11 so that you can play them via DXVK on Vulkan? Sometimes you mentioned DX9 in your comments, so I wonder if you managed to use DXUP or VK9 already.

Yes when said DXVK is used

However understand your confusion for example in van helsing case and others:

Base game use DX9 (no DXVK - wine vanilla) one test with pentium G3258 @ 4.1ghz, next test with core i3 8350K Tri-core @ 5.0ghz and when show DXVK (use dx11 game executable) with core i3 8350K Tri-core @ 5.0ghz

Another interesting case is age of mythologies extended edition because this game use wine DX10 and runs around 60fps but with DXVK (DXVK_FAKE_DX10_SUPPORT=1) up above 140fps

Main goal is show how much cpu wine needs (much single thread in many cases)

But another goal is show how improve with DXVK above wine DX9 implementation if DX11 stay avalaible in same title

^_^

I saw this on Wikipedia:

"Wine implementation
The Wine project has working implementations of the Direct3D 8, 9 and 10 APIs (they are, as of 20 May 2014, 100%, 78% and 82% complete respectively).[139] Wine's implementation can also be run on Windows under certain conditions.[140] Work on implementing Direct3D 10 began in Wine 1.1.7, using OpenGL via WGL."

Does anyone have newer numbers and numbers for DX11 and DX12?
