Ahead of a release that will be "Soon!", the comedy cosmic horror adventure Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure has a new trailer and the Steam page is now live.

Yet another game that was successfully funded on Kickstarter, also one that seems it will keep the promise of Linux support too since the developer got in touch with us directly to point it out. They even joined our Discord as well, so that was pretty fun to see.

Gibbous is a comedy cosmic horror game - a modern adventure that is classically inspired, features gorgeous HD art, detailed traditional animation, and a lengthy story that will see the three protagonists travel around the world and deal with abominations both cosmic and human-made, voodoo, and Things That Should Not Be. From Lovecraft Country to Transylvania, set off on a quest to get a very cynical cat to stop talking.

Anyway, they don't seem to have an exact date for release yet but they have a Steam page finally up, as well as this sweet trailer:

Oh boy! This looks like it could be a serious amount of fun. Some great voice over, lovely animated art and an amusing setting.

I'll get this for the artwork alone. It reminds me of Don Bluth's wild style (Dragon's Lair, Space Ace)!

Never knew my country had a games industry.
Well , even an indie one.

Now I needed to find out, and... they're from Transilvania (Romania). How cool is that?!? :-D

I do believe they mentioned other developers existing in Romania, perhaps even Transylvania itself, at some point. This particular team is originally part of a mobile-focused company, though, which I feel is a market that's probably easier to get into for small companies in atypical countries than console/PC gaming dev (since mobile games usually have a smaller scope).

Quoting: NanobangI imagine that the devs of this parody are intimate with his work. Straight, so called, 'Lovecraftian' games almost universally fail to convey the deeply unsettling 'otherness' of Lovecraft's world, but I could see a parody set in a Lovecraftian setting being wildly enjoyable, especially to the fan of good 'ol H.P..
Oh, they certainly are. They've made plenty of references to his works, sung songs about Chthulu and cited it as the main inspiration for the theme. But as far as I can tell this will be a comedy/parody above all, so I wouldn't really expect it to be actually disturbing.

Quoting: mylkademo doesnt work for me. "error while loading shared libraries: libXcursor.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

Installing a package that should be called "libxcursor1" might help?

Quoting: mylkademo doesnt work for me. "error while loading shared libraries: libXcursor.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"

you need the 32bit versions of libXcursor

dpkg -S /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXcursor.so.1
libxcursor1:i386: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libXcursor.so.1

sudo apt-get install libxcursor-dev:i386

you might find the other libs with

ldd Gibbous_Linux.x86

Installing libxcursor1:i386 should suffice. No need for the dev package.
