This Unreal Engine powered adventure game will see you explore a world on edge, as natural resources are running low, crime is on the rise and there's a lot of pullution in the air and water.

I'm about three hours into it now - superb presentation, very story-driven. Object interaction is a little bit hit-or-miss, but voice acting is top-drawer and the atmosphere is off the charts. Enjoying it immensely.

Update: I've now been sent a key. Although it was invalid, so I'm waiting for another.

Reminds me of Deus Ex. Gonna have to try.

Didn't know about the Linux version! Very nice! I'll take a look at this.

as natural resources are running low, crime is on the rise and there's a lot of pollution in the air and water.

I bet in the year 2048 it will be even more so, but it is sadly already true today. :/

Is it possible to switch to a first person view? I hate this kind of offset third person camera, makes it hard to move/target things, on top of course of the character hiding a quarter of the screen.

Sadly, no. Not that I have found. And yes, the targeting is a bit negatively impacted by exactly that problem. It's not gotten in the way too much though. As a style choice, I get why they went over-the-shoulder, but like you, I prefer first-person for all such games.

They're really supportive there and maybe now they have time to look into my patches for their first Edna and Harvey installment to maks it run on Linux natively (they told me they had something "big" to release first) :p

They will release a remastered version of the first Edna in 2019 that will support Linux. They've announced that on their official discord.

I'll wait a couple days for reviews to say it's not horribly broken, and then it's looking very much like I'll soon have another game to play (probably via GOG, which is nice). Then just to find time to play it.

Rock solid 60 FPS with Mesa + AMDGPU on my side. Everything on Epic (of course, I have an RX580, kinda what I expected).

Couldn't find any problem so far.

From what I understand there is no combat in this game?

Insta buy. I love Daedalic Entertainment. They make great games, and they port them on my favorite OS, DRM free on humblebundle and gog, well take my money! You deserve it :D And looking forward for the next title!

You did a good thing!

And why does everyone use discord nowadays :-(
Because it's currently the best application for IM and group chat and voice chat. The only real competitor (I'm talking primarily feature-wise) during the rise of Discord was Matrix and Discord was significantly faster at adding features and capturing the mainstream audience. It's not the most perfect application for those purposes theoretically possible but I stand by that it's simply the best available as well as the best I've ever used.

I honestly don't really see the appeal for this, the most common use-case for discord group chats doesn't seem to be serious chatting anyway but spamming memes :p

So irc or even telegram groups are far superior imho there. And voice chat is usually done by a completely different group, so a different program would do, and those usually do that better. Also I have a big distaste for what a friend called "rainbow-puking javascript shit". It's damn slow, had more crashes since I installed it than any other program and annoys the hell out of me with its shitty user interface. eh.

/rant :)

Could you elaborate about the things you dislike about the user interface? I don't wish to argue about appeal of discord, I think we've made our cases, but I'm somewhat enthusiastic about UI design and I'm always curious to know what works and what doesn't for other people.

Most importantly it doesn't "fit in" into my environment, doesn't adhere to my themes etc. and completely sticks out.

Also the user interface is mouse-focused or touch, it works with the keyboard but it's far from what I'd want, because I cannot customize the keyboard interface to the amount I'd want. It's also far from responsive, and clutters the UI with unneeded animations or similar bells 'n' whistles

The interface tries to "tell you" what you should click, if you get my point. But I know what *I* want and it annoys the hell out of me.

And finally, something that's not UI but UX related: I have to use the discord-program to use the discord-protocol.

No. There's a somewhat Heavy-Rain-like aspect of puzzles and some dialogur and some walking/exploring, but it's very, very story driven. So far (thankfully) there hasn't even been any QTEs. It's not that kind of game.

Perhaps the people who like the game, can now give positive reviews. And in this reviews you can tell (in the first line?) that it runs great on Linux.
