I'm not really sure what Black Riddles Studio are doing with Crazy Justice [Steam] at this point, as they seem to change their mind about it constantly. They constantly said Early Access was coming out on August 23rd. When actually, it wasn't at all.

Instead of Early Access, they decided to send it to only their backers. After testing it, I'm really not surprised. I've seen a lot of bad releases in my time to be fair to them and since it's unfinished, issues are to be expected. The problem is it's quite literally broken. I would have expected such glaring issues to have never been sent out to their backers.

So many issues with it, I honestly don't know where to begin. To be clear, I'm well aware that it's an unfinished game but let's remember they had planned to launch this last month. Given the state it's in a month later, that's pretty damn worrying.

Firstly, the Linux version doesn't even launch because it cannot find the "libsteam_api.so" file. Fixing that is easy, they either need to adjust their launch script so it knows where it is or copy it over to the same folder where the executable is. If that's not in their first update, I will be both amused and disappointed due to how easy it is to solve.

When you go to enter the game, it will instantly count down even though there's only two people. It doesn't seem to wait until it has a group of people, so you don't really get a chance to have a good game.

Even worse, is that there's black patches all over the map, which is probably some sort of broken shader. That's not the absolute game-breaker though! Being a game with a Battle Royale mode (the only mode currently live) it has a storm that gradually reduces the play area. As soon as that starts moving, the FPS completely nose-dives down making it completely unplayable and the storm never stops moving.

That's just the tip of the iceberg, you also need to register again to even login to the game and it doesn't save your login details, so you need to login again every time you load it. I've seen players on Windows unable to even open the map (works for me), the map doesn't even show your own location, some people have been in a game where there's literally no loot and the list just goes on and on from there.

As a backer, someone who pledged $30 to them to help make it happen, I fully want them to succeed. So my words aren't written out of spite as I really do hope they learn from this experience. They've got a lot to prove, let's hope they recover and hammer out some fixes.

I will continue testing it as time goes on and update you when the situation is better.

I pre-ordered the game also because it was about $15 and that's disposable money to me. The game doesn't even launch for me. I won't regret it if it never works; here's hoping that it will work someday for me.

I was planning to stream it on Launch day but my key arrived at midnight (to late for a stream) Then I also had the game doesn't launch problem but thanks to the Discord community of this game they wrote how to fix it. Now i could play it but yeah it's really crap. Most of the time I'm a Solo Player no enemies and then those black spots are very bad. If I stream it on Linux it's bad maybe for Linux and even Crazy Justice.
Also a thing I don't understand. Why did they make such a awful Menu Music and the annoying goat noise?

A Battle Royale clone that isn't good.
That's... not exactly something new.

Too bad this one would also support linux. But we don't really need bad games with linux support, so... nothing of value was lost?

Sorry, but you could have straight taken the bills and lit them on fire. This game was DOA the moment it was announces. PUBG can't keep up with Fortnite, but Crazy Juice (which looks like a straight rip-off) will? Please...

You don't have to be the #1 most popular in a category to be successful. Fortnite might be the one to beat, but my friends and I don't even like that one. Consider that League of Legends would be considered more popular than Dota 2, yet Dota 2 is still a very successful game that many players love.

Aside from that, I guess I'm not so eager for Crazy Justice to release now. It goes without saying that a game has to work.

I really hope that the big problems will be fixed for early public access. I think it takes 2-3 days for players to report bugs so that developers can fix them. The game is not in BETA but in EA so it is normal that it is not playable on the first day...

This sort of thing happens all the time in the game and software development world. I mean look at how long it took Duke Nukem Forever to be released, and then when it was - It was sh*t. Windows XX released with thousands of bugs, with new users as the Quality Testers. Generally, only put money into a Kickstarter if you are willing to accept the loss of that money - Like making a bet.

I personally like to see real game play, from multiple sources, after a game is released before parting with money.

This. There's a massive difference to being successful and being stupidly popular.

If they even manage a following of 2-3 thousand regular plays, they are sorted.

To be honest, and this is of course very easy to say now in retrospect, but just by hearing the audio effects and background music in that gameplay video clip earlier this week, this really doesn't come as much of a surprise to me. It had to be some stock assets from the Unity editor being used, and more than indicated that they had a lot of work left. Like, a lot.

It's weird because the BR mode was a late addition to the game. Half of the issues should have been worked out for the original game. Especially the sound, since that is such an important part of shooters.

The really should have pulled in the backers for testing way back with the E3 build. I don't see them releasing anything free to the public in a short time now.
