Fictorum is an action RPG with destructible environments from Scraping Bottom Games, they said last year they planned a Linux version and it looks like it's now happening.

The tip comes from NuSuey/TuxDB where it showed a Linux content depot turning up recently. Checking SteamDB seems to indicate this is indeed true as of early this morning. When checking on their public roadmap, it seems they solved some issues they were having with a Linux version recently so this does indicate it's quite likely to release.

After watching a recent update video shown below, it certainly look like a promising game to have on Linux:

A little reminder about the game:

Rather than starting out as a hapless farm boy who stumbles into his powers and avoids enemies or entire areas until leveling up, players take on the role of an established wizarding badass, hell-bent on his mission for revenge. Yet challenge is abundant—the wizard must bring down a sprawling empire by himself, besting scores of bandits, cadres of Inquisitors, and hordes of corrupted abominations on his quest for vengeance. The protagonist has access to unlimited magical powers, making the game less about spamming that one spell that works passably well until it becomes upgradable. The experience is more about tailoring your magical arsenal, giving the player a wide range of freedom and the ability to effectively, efficiently, and enthusiastically destroy every obstacle. The randomly-generated world map features locations where every structure (from large buildings to bookshelves to tables to even a lone fork) can be demolished.

This is right up my alley, easy instant buy when Linux version drops. :D

Looks very interesting. It's intriguing that you start out as a full-powered mage instead of having to progressively develop your character. It's such a break from gaming tradition that I'm curious how it's going to work in practice. It's currently showing "Mixed" reviews on Steam. The most common complaint is that there's not a lot of substance to it, and the novelty of it all wears thin after a couple of hours.

With such a low metascore I'd advice anyone considering a purchase to read reviews quite thoroughly.

Thinking I'll add this one to my Wishlist, and then once the Linux version drops, I'll consider it some more. Linux version + Sale + Good Game Play = Likely Purchase. ;)

Seems very "meh" TBH
If the devs are continuing to polish the game, this could be quite interesting...

The trailer gave me laughter and smiles, but also a little concern for substance. The magic fighting mechanic looks hilariously fun. Perhaps, they need a new game director to create a second game using the action mechanics established here. This game kind of looks like a tech demo asking for funds for a real game.

I might get it once it works on Linux. It might be fun to play for a while. And, maybe, their next game will be richer.

This just looks like a big pile of fun, not taking itself too seriously. I think I'll be picking this up.

That beacon/pursuit system kinda reminds me of FTL.

Vincere posted an update yesterday, yet another dev struggling with getting Linux version working. I'm not a fan of this trend, it shouldn't be that difficult... but it seems to be quite a challenge. :(

Vincere [developer]
Having trouble getting a Linux build to work properly, trying to port to Linux is one of my many hats I'm wearing, and I wish it was going better/easier, but there's been some shader errors and other problems that I'm slowly working through as I try to patch other parts of the game as well.
