Another treat for the weekend is a new Wine [Official Site] development release with Wine 3.16 now available with a few features and bug fixes.

Feature highlight:

  • Initial implementation of OPC Services.
  • Support for rendering buttons from an ImageList.
  • Better support for CSS properties in MSHTML.
  • Namespace fixes in XML Writer.

As for bug fixes, they noted 43 fixed in total. The usual reminder applies, not all bugs fixed were actually fixed in this version, some are older bugs only now being noticed as solved.

This list includes issues being solved with Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Warframe, Ragnarok Online, Resident Evil 7, Overwatch, Bethesda Launcher Updater and more.

Always nice to see WINE going forward. LOTS of ground to cover but the constant progress fills me with hope! Hopefully fixes will keep coming and keep getting integrated into Proton.

PS: It's kinda funny that they are mentioning fixes for Overwatch (We have a small crisis with some Blizzard bans atm).

wonder if they fixed that mod organizer 2 virtual file system mounting issue... They fixed it so the program launched but forgot about the uvfs component last time I checked.

Quoting: GuestOutside of mods and just vanilla RE4.... Does it work fine for you?

I tried it a few weeks ago on proton and it ran fine but graphics were messed up, leon was just a big black shadow, I know this is wine and not proton but just wondering if I can expect those issues to be fixed on proton

Also, have you tried Resident Evil HD remake from Steam? That is the RE game I want to work on linux the MOST... As lets face it, the original RE was the best one, but sadly never worked for me under wine, I did use winetricks to install WP9 or w.e was required, which got cutscenes working, but when going into actual gameplay it would just crash to desktop :(

Hi

This refer resident evil 4 non hd with mods

And yeah resident evil 4 hd have texture problems

Respect resident evil hd have similar problem than yours but game works correctly on regular wine
