For those who like to use their PC to emulate other platforms, the Citra [Official Site, GitHub] emulator for the Nintendo 3DS just put out a progress report and it's very promising.
Citra now supports multiple game directories, so you don't need to bundle everything together:
Also fun to see the developers use Linux.
Another extremely handy new feature, is that they've hooked up actual keyboard support as well. Any time a game requires text input, the game will pause and bring up a text box for your input which is really good to see.
They also implemented support for shadow maps using an OpenGL extension although they say not everyone will be able to use it, as it was only optional in older OpenGL versions. Likely though, most people will get it, since they say the extension used is part of OpenGL 4.2 and so you would have to have an older card not to have that support by now (or a really out of date Mesa).
On top of that there's also a volume slider, Discord Rich Presence support, hot-plugging support for gamepads, support for stereoscopic 3D and more. Looks like they've been extremely busy!
See the latest report here.
Something else that's really exciting, which I completely missed from their previous progress report is that they have been able to hook up the local wireless multiplayer feature to work across the internet. That's really cool! Quite a few titles already work with it too, so it's very impressive.

I was confusing Citra with another popular emulator, but one that's Windows only. I am wondering how YUZU has been coming along since it's the open source version.
Hopefully these all make their way into RetroArch someday.
