In addition to Linux support, it also gained a major update with:
- Xiao Hong the Red Panda - A brand new playable ‘pupper’ as voted on by the players!
- Tourist Mode - a new Campaign difficulty mode for players who prefer an easier game with faster progress!
- Increased variety and replayability with over 20 new pop-up Proletaricat missions added to Endless mode. Obey your feline leader and reap the rewards!
- A whole pack of tweaks and quality of life improvements!
I must admit, I really didn't expect much from it. Surprisingly, it's actually quite amusing! It's like those old games where you had fruit falling that you had to catch in a basket, except this time you're a dog shouting at people to drop their food so you can eat it.
The basic controls are easy to grasp, but actually getting good at it is quite a challenge indeed. Part of the difficulty is how many bones you are required to earn by completing challenges to enable you to unlock further levels. Thankfully, they acted on the feedback and introduced a more casual mode in this update requiring less bones since some of the challenges are surprisingly difficult. It's fun to try though, bouncing things in the air by barking was pretty amusing.
One downside is that it didn't work with the Steam Controller at all, even with SC Controller it just didn't have any input in the game. However, the Logitech F310 worked perfectly.
I've had a good amount of laughter with this, so much charm to it I think it's well worth a look. Grab it from Humble Store and Steam.
