Streets of Rogue, the excellent and completely ridiculous rogue-lite that allows a lot of freedom just had another rather interesting update.

The developer is continuing to polish the game now towards an eventual release, since the game now actually has a rather brilliant ending. With update 61, you can now find an addition 60 character traits. Some of them do require you to unlock them with Nuggets, which you earn each time you do optional missions or level up during a run. They're a permanent currency that persist between runs, so you can go to your "Home Base" to unlock stuff.

Some of the new traits are hilarious like "Friend of the Family" that causes Mobsters to be aligned with you, "Bullet Breaker" allowing your bullets to break enemy bullets, "Wall Walloper" giving melee weapons the power to destroy certain walls, "Burning Bullets" giving your bullets the ability to set things alight and much more.

Additionally, there's now an Augmentation Booth that will allow you to upgrade, remove and swap traits around during runs which also sounds rather amusing. There's also a bunch of new sound effects, level up changes along with assorted bug fixes.

You can grab it on Humble Store and Steam. Absolutely worth checking out.

We also did a special livestream recently with myself along with contributors Scaine and Samsai on our Twitch Channel, a VOD is now available on YouTube. It's some of the most fun I've had in a long time, the game is fun by yourself with so many options and completely mad with other people. One of my favourite moments has to be around 31:50, as the shifting status effects modifier is on and something rather amusing happens…

I'm currently addicted to this. I don't have too much of a clue what's going on though! And now all this new stuff's added

I've found it quite hard to get through more than a few levels at a time but I'm putting that down to me being too gung-ho and not patient enough. Just unlocked the vampire and that was fun. Glad the dev added being able to bite when your health's full :D

This game is huge fun, solo or coop, it's really well done with enough control to justify the lack of control you have over the game...
