Developer All Parts Connected has now announced that their action-survival game Sipho is going to enter Early Access. on November 13th.

Sipho is a game that combines eerie real life underwater creatures, insects, body parts with building, combat and exploration. Create your own creature by combining various parts, called zooids. Each zooid specializes in some sort of function– some zooids eat food, others are responsible for movement, attacking other creatures or providing structural support. Most zooids have active and passive abilities. All of the zooids combine into a single creature, Sipho, whose main goal is to climb to the top of the food chain, by using cunning weaponry and various skills.

I tried out the early demo and came away quite impressed, it was a little limited so it's hard to gauge just how fun it's going to be. I do love the idea of evolving my creature as I progress through the game. A lot of games have upgrade features and there's quite a lot of block-based building games but not many have you playing as an actual creature made up of lots of body parts like this.

They also have a new trailer up:

Worlds are randomly generated, so each new play-through should offer up something different. There's different species to unlock, along with more body parts to unlock as you progress through the game.

It will be available on both itch.io (which currently has an old demo you can try) as well as Steam.

This looks like it might be fun. It's very much like the cellular stage of Spore, that just keeps going. I like it!
