Feral Interactive, one of the only companies to be porting AAA games to Linux have put out a request for more port suggestions.

THE REQUESTINATOR is whirring noisily into action! Feed your game requests for macOS, Linux or mobile into this marvellous machine and they will be processed with unnecessarily complex computational algorithms.

You can see the posts on Twitter and Facebook.

While it's a bit of fun, it will be interesting to see how many of the requests Feral actually end up porting. They're already working on Life is Strange 2, Total War: THREE KINGDOMS and Total War: WARHAMMER II is due out this month. So they're still bringing us some good games, but I do hope they seriously have more coming up.

If they really want a list, being realistic here my top three right now to keep me happy would be:

  1. HITMAN 2
  2. Just Cause 4
  3. Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I think those would be possible, since they already have some sort of contacts with each studio and publisher and have done previous titles. In the case of Just Cause 4, it's the same developer that did Mad Max which Feral Ported to Linux. Those are my realistic titles, however, if they want to push they boat out a little how about:

  1. Dying Light 2
  2. Dead by Daylight
  3. Divinity: Original Sin 2

What would be your top 5, that you would want Feral to port to Linux?

i don't know.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, i think they will port ANYWAY, because they ported 2013 and it made enough sucess to port rise of tombraider.
things may change now that we have proton, but i expect it to continue, i would hate to see an incomplete collection of games, the old games we will be able to play due to proton so all we need is keep receiving the new ones.
at the same time i would hate to see yet another totalwar

i would love to see .hack, i'm waiting 10 years to play this thing, but its already an platinum on proton, so its quite confusing

hitman 2 of course, in my opinion it is a shame that it was not a day1 simultaneous release.
I guess the denuvo copy protection details prevented management from even considering a port until some time has passed.

GTA 5 is surely too much to ask ;D

-Shadow of the Tomb Raider

-Any of the Arkham series Batman games.

I ever have Divinity Original Sin 2 (works well with Proton and some tricks) but if it could be Linux native *_*.

Bring the best RPG on Linux !

I agree that is probably what happened, although management, if they would ask someone else, would have been told that Linux executable can not be used to play on Windows.

I have a strange feeling that whatever I suggest they will port again some Total War thing. :(

For the record, Denuvo was removed from the first game when GOTY edition rolled around (and the MacOS and Liunux port were already out), so Denuvo has nothing to do with a porting decision. Stop treating Denuvo as a scapegoat until you have actual hard evidence.

Porting hitman 2 and shadow of the tomb raider is a must for feral. And since you mentioned divinity would be great too.

And, oh boy, if techland don't port dying light 2... I'm going postal

Dying Light 2
Metro: Exodus
Cyberpunk 2077

oh, and btw, I was looking in the twitter you linked and through the feral responses (or I must say, the requestinator), you can see what would probably be ported. I think. At least that was the impression of the beeps and boops that I had haha

I'd want to watch the actual Dying Light 2 gameplay and read some reviews. They have many bold ideas there but it's always a gamble whether they work or not. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a must.

And about Denuvo, I was pleasantly surprised that Proton/Wine could run Prey with it. Part of the success is actually the restrictive Windows policies that prevent games from installing their own low level kernel drivers (like the dreaded StarForce). So the protection should be implemented purely in the userland and that can be emulated good enough. Anyway, Feral rebuild the game from the source and Denuvo AFAIK is a binary protector (and even if it's not, I guess it's trivial to clean the source up). So it's a non-issue, really.

besides tomb raider and hitman which hopefully come anyway

YAKUZA
AC Odyssey
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
just cause 4
dying light 2
metro 3
Rage 2 (but i think it will have vulkan and work with proton like all bethesda games)
Anorelsan Nov 13, 2018
Dark Souls series and Shadow of the Tomb Rider. :D
Shmerl Nov 13, 2018
DRM-free games. Feral still fail to release even a single one.
poiuz Nov 13, 2018
Since they have fixed the game:
- Middle-earth: Shadow of War

Then:
- The Witcher 3 (Unlikekly, but it still should be ported by someone and released on GOG, too)!
- Darksiders 3 (THQ Nordic seems quite Linux-friendly. But do a GOG release, too)!

Edit:
And when they're already porting Darksiders 3: Of course they should port Darksiders & Darksiders 2 (and release it on GOG), too!

Quote1. HITMAN 2
2. Just Cause 4
3. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Agree on all three. And frankly, although it's getting on a bit now, I'd be more than happy with Just Cause 3. It still seems to have trouble under Wine.
