This is your once a month reminder to make sure your PC information is correct on your user profiles. A fresh batch of statistics is generated on the 1st of each month.
You need to be logged in to see when you last updated your PC info!
You can see the statistics any time on this page.
If you want your details to actually be included in the monthly survey, be sure to head here and tick the box labelled "Include your PC details in our Monthly User Statistics?" and hit the "Update" button at the bottom, it's opt-in and you can uncheck it at any time not to be included in future statistics gathering.
PC Info is automatically purged if it hasn't been updated, or if you don't click the link to remain in for 2 years. This way we prevent too much stale data and don't hold onto your data for longer than required.

Again, this is not inherently defined by Proton. For instance you can buy and download a game from GOG (using a regular browser), and then play it with Proton. It would be attributed to Linux if the browser you used has a Linux user agent.
Attributing something to Linux usage depends on the store methodology, not on Proton itself, and that doesn't in any way define its relationship to Wine.

Which implies that usage of Proton means using Steam, which is not correct. While Proton is targeted for Steam, it can be used without it.

I mean "bought and played through Proton" does rule out potential missunderstandings...
Please, reward my ignorance and simply answer the question:
Do I update my answer from "no" to "yes" next to the question about wine if I play games through Steam Play (no wine, no Proton)?
Yes, change it. Proton used in Steam Play is a Wine variant. But there will be a separate question about Steam Play (not Proton but Steam Play specifically if I understood correctly).

Liam said, that it means that question about Wine will include Proton then, so it should be "Yes" to the first question.
I.e. the first question is about the tool (Wine and derivatives). The second question is about Steam Play specifically (Steam feature).
If that's too confusing, it's better just to stick with one question about Wine.

Please note that I used Steam Play in my answer, not Proton. I agree that the question about wine needs some clarification. Something in the line of:
- Do you use Wine (excluding Proton via SteamPlay)?
- Do you use Steam Play?
Proton is different. It works inside the native Linux steam client: It uses WINe as an important ingredient, but is not WINe.. And the Steam servers will see your machine as a Linux one. And because of this, your purchases will count as Linux purchases, even if You buy a Windows game-
So, Liam, You have to include a separate question for Steamplay/Proton usage.. After that, I will update my info.
