Interstellar Marines used to be one of the most promising first-person shooters which sadly died due to a lack of funding. It's limping along, with a new video to show off a new enemy.
The enemy is a Recon Drone, which will come with Update 28, take a look:

More about the Drone:
Introducing the Recon Drone, which will be introduced in Update 28 in both Cooperative and Wargames as a new enemy. The Recon Drone will have various abilities, including being able to call in reinforcements to your general location in the form of CTRs as well as being armed with mounted weapons.
Looks and sounds like it could certainly spice things up a bit! I haven't seen them post yet when Update 28 will be out, will keep you posted.
Honestly, I still think Interstellar Marines is more interesting than a lot of FPS titles coming out even recently, it has such a fantastic atmosphere and the game mechanics are pretty solid. I really do hope it sees a resurgence in 2019. Every time I jump in and manage to get a game online, I always have a good time.
Find Interstellar Marines on Humble Store and Steam.

I agree !

100% agree. It's enormously atmospheric, and spooky too. I've jumped at times. Level design needs some work, but I'm so happy it's still under development. I check every few days to see if anyone is playing (sadly, there rarely is) as I've had some great co-op matches there. Unfortunately, their Steam forums are toxic due to hate aimed at the devs due to the, ah, relaxed development timeframe. Do they have a better community elsewhere?

I'm thinking on buying the game since it has 50% discount on steam right now, however the player base is one of my concerns.
I suggest we make a tournament on GOL or maybe set up a play schedule so we all can meet up and play the game.
I guess I will be buying it, hope we can play some time.

There are lots of games I'd love to do such scheduling or maybe have a Linux team (Rocket League!). Does the site have an area for such coordination?

PS: I seem to remember there being a number of players for Interstellar Marines who I think had a Friday night schedule. I'll check...
All the best of luck to the few souls working on it.
I'd be more into a coop survival experience then PvP, this game was going to have a 4 player or so coop campaign that spanned the galaxy and had recruitment/jobs/skills if I remember correctly. It's a shame they didn't follow that original vision. (they went full PvP to start with, but people lost interest and they lost money).
Quoting: TheRiddickI'd be more into a coop survival experience then PvP...The way I've played it is coop survival, and it was a blast that way. Its PvP actually I don't think is very good, other games are much better at that. But coop is great.
Wargame is a global game that lasts 55 minutes, starts every hour. Anyone can join, you get ranks and Combat Points, used then to unlock cosmetic skins. Wargame has 9 interconnected maps, with all kind of weathers and lights, and stupid yet deadly bots patrolling to destroy you.
I just did one full Wargame just now, teamed up with 3 randomly present players.

So, now heading to rank 40 (out of 100), with about 7-8 hours of gameplay.
I'm having a lot of fun, even if mainly solo but from time to time i meet a lost player to play with, coop in Wargame.
Also, challenges are... challenging. Or i'm bad.
I've missed playing a slow paced FPS, most of them nowadays are for clickers.
