Get ready to fill your bucket, as the third release candidate for Wine 4.0 is officially uncorked and ready to breathe.
As they're going through a code freeze, no major new features made it into this release while they focus on getting it stable.
With that in mind they noted 27 bugs squashed. These include issues found with Final Fantasy XI, Undertale and others. As usual though, some bugs were fixed previously and only checked off now.
The final Wine 4.0 release is due sometime in January.
It's hard to think on just how much work has gone into Wine in the past year or two. They face a massive uphill battle and it never ceases to amaze me what they've been able to do.
Cheers to the Wine team for another good brew.

Bravo, having more regular versions will certainly help users distinguish the latest and push packagers to stay on top of fresh releases.
It seems like development has been cut up into achievable chunks that work together like VK9, DXVK, Ethan's FAudio, etc...
Impressive work and congratulations on tearing down the wall between the OSes.
Also, a giving a hand for Valve and their collaboration with CodeWeavers and on DXVK.

Wine seeks for perfect compability with all Windows applications, so even Linux native games are tested. Also keep in mind that Wine does not only exist for Linux.

This. Any game that has issues in Wine, even a native Linux game will likely mean other games will have the same issues. In this case, the issue affecting Undertale also affected Final Fantasy XI. So in short: Fixing any game, will probably help other games."With that in mind they noted 27 bugs squashed. These include issues found with Final Fantasy XI, Undertale

Surprising how often people don't get this, happy to clear it up :)
