Valve may be gearing up for an interesting few years, as it seems Erik Wolpaw who helped write Portal, Half-Life: 2 episodes and more is now back at Valve.
The tip comes from ValveNewsNetwork and I've certainly got no reason to think it's not true as McVicker does some pretty decent Valve coverage on YouTube. On top of that, Wolpaw is actually listed in the credits for Artifact (see here).
We know that Valve do have multiple titles in the works at the moment, so bringing in more people isn't exactly surprising. They recently released Artifact, In the Valley of Gods is coming since Campo Santo joined Valve and they have others they say are "top secret".
It will be interesting to see what they're doing especially since Valve is possibly making a VR Half-Life game. It's certainly going to be a fun year.
I just want to see a new Left 4 Dead game, is it too much to ask?
As always, I've reached out to Valve to confirm it too just to be sure.

On top of my wishlist from Valve is that they break the news with a ETA on their VR set. Simply cause I then know it will be well supported for Linux from day one.

I certainly hope they will bring closure to the fans with Ep. 3 (ideally made in the same spirit as both predecesors, on the same engine) and maybe see if they are going to expand on the aftermath of the mess left by the Combine in another game. Only time will tell. Good to know Valve is back making games.

I really hope they take theirs instead of releasing a half-backed HL3. Epistle 3 sounds amazing in my head. There is so much to explore, so many questions to answer.
If I have any wishes for the next HL, it would be to make it a bit grimmer, with no clear-cut good decisions, but rather more unintended consequences. Also, reinforce again the sentiment of being colonized by an overwhelming force, just like Oceania was.
I've read a reddit post on HL being an essay on colonization, and teleportation technology, and it made me dream a sequel even more. But a good one :)
Edit: Now that I think more about it, a whole universe dedicated to teleportation might be ideal for a VR game.

He's there to work on Half Life VR, a prequel to Half Life 2, because prequels are always beloved and never screw anything up. After all, we all know that what we really wanted was to find out what Darth Vader was like as a little kid.

Is just me, or the G-Man from Half Life and The Outsider from Dishonored are the same concept?
