Going by the reports on ProtonDB, it seems to run reasonably well. The main issue it seems to suffer from is based on where you install it. One comment in particular notes "The game must be installed somewhere without a "." in the path or the game will crash on a heavy punch.". Apart from that, most reports say it does work very nicely.
There's also The Division included, which sadly doesn't seem to work at all with Steam Play and Humble only gives a Uplay key for that anyway.
They also give you more games next month, typically you get around 8 or 9 in total when the full bundle unlocks although there’s been 10 a few times as well.
As always, you also get access to the Humble Trove, a curated selection of DRM Free games to download and keep any time. Last I checked there were over 40 native Linux games available in the Trove including titles like: SOMA, The Penumbra Collection, The End Is Nigh, Tiny Echo, Super Meat Boy and plenty more.

Joking aside ; give SteamPlay a chance. I'm already into 20+hours in Witcher and it just works perfect.

I like Wizard of Legend, and I had Sundered and Observer on my wishlist so last month worked fine for me.

You can always put up your spare keys on steamtrades.com or the like, and trade for games you actually want!
I unsubscribed this month again, because I realized that I can become an associate member of the Free Software Foundation for 10 bucks a month, and that's just way more cool!

Christmas Games Sales and the January Humble Subscription (with the hidden games being revealed on 4th Jan 2019) have not worked out too well for me this time. One big underlying reason is that I have amassed a very sizeable game collection, mostly favouring Linux titles. Inevitably, Humble's late reveals will (sometimes) contain (multiple) games that I already own.
In this particular case, I didn't own Wizard of Legend in the early reveals so decided to not pause this month, but to take it. (I didn't especially want the Windows early reveals, Just Cause 3 XXL and Project Cars 2 - Windows titles.)
During the Christmas Sales, I expanded my collection by a number of titles at nice discount, favouring Linux. Two of the titles I bought over Christmas - Observer and Sundered - Arrghhh! - They now turn up in the January bundle. It feels too much like I've bought them twice over now.
My "wins" were: Wizard of Legend, The Darkside Detective - Linux titles.
My "fails" were: Observer, Sundered, Regions of Ruin - Linux titles I own (and 2 I'd bought right before the Subs reveal).
My "not-wanteds" (Windows games, not previously owned): Just Cause 3 XXL, Project Cars 2, Qube 2.
Humble's Monthly Subscription works out better if (a) you favour Windows, and (b) do not own an excessive number of games.
Meanwhile, had I NOT bought Observer and Sundered just prior to the Reveal... I'd be patting myself on the back right now for getting a really great bundle. The word "Unlucky" certainly crops up here.

Sweet. I've been meaning to buy this one. No idea when I'll actually get to playing it, since I'm currently replaying Sleeping Dogs and my days off are almost over. But I've been wanting to play the Yakuza series long before they actually ported them to PC. The Division - meh...

I find myself slowly accepting Steam Play as a valid method of playing Windows games. I'm about 15 hours into Death of the Outside and I bought that, along with Dishonored 2, as a bundle in the Steam Sale for about a fiver. Incredible value and both titles work absolutely perfectly. To the point that, other than seeing the usual shitty "installing DirectX" pop ups the first time you play, you wouldn't know that these aren't native games.
Oh - that's not quite true. Death of the Outsider grabs the keyboard in a way that you can't Alt-Tab out, even from the Steam Overlay, which is a bit annoying. But gameplay-wise, it's perfect.
Looking forward to seeing what 2019 brings us.

Is it possible to activate The Division key in a web-browser, without installing Uplay?
I try to not buy games elsewhere because if I do, they get into Humble Monthly eventually, very often before I beat them or even play them. I bought Overwatch and Metal Gear Solid 5 last summer to try DXVK, and both appeared in HM soon.

I had Wizard of Legend, Observer, Sundered and RoR already, but the bundle was still totally worth it for Project Cars 2. Not only is the game good, but the performance through Steam Play is great as well. Ive obviously never played it in Windows, but from a FPS standpoint it performs as well as Dirt Rally on my machine easily. Possibly better.

Pretty much the reason I haven't installed this to try it yet. That shit is going nowhere near my system. I don't even cash in steam keys from Humble Bundles for titles that have Denuvo (except, annoyingly, by accident when I didn't notice that Metal Gear still used it <sigh>)

If you look at this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denuvo, you can see by the "cracked" column whether a game is any good! The ones that aren't cracked are almost all, with a few exceptions, absolutely terrible games. I wonder what the incentive is to keep Denuvo on those. Must be a perpetual license or at the least, pre-paid for a number of years.
On the other hand, further down, you can see a list of games that have now removed Denuvo. As a result, I've bought Dishonored 2. Yep, that's right, publishers, your anti-consumer DRM was PREVENTING sales, not preserving them.
Infuriating. To be honest, if there's much more Denuvo on the Humble Monthly, I'll have to cancel it. I don't want my money associated with that product, even indirectly.

Good thing about these monthly bundles is that when a game appears in a bundle, its trade value suddenly drops. So yesterday I quickly went to barter.vg and made offers to anyone who had newly posted Observer, I made off with the game like a bandit. I would recommend to anyone trading your old unneeded game keys, not only do you get games you actually want to play, you also give a chance to others to play the games that just collect dust in your stash.
I used to be throwing a lot of money on video games despite playing very little, it's only when I started calculating all the money I've been throwing at games that I realized my folly. And since the games these days are generally pricier than few years ago and good bundles are rearer, I'm keeping a better watch over my wallet. I buy a monthly only if in the early unlock is the game I want (as happened with Civilization 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider), but if the game turns out to be in the hidden part of the bundle, I trade for it afterwards.

I have the annual subscription, but I have been pausing it every month that I have not wanted the headline titles. And by default, in spite of proton, any windows title is a "not want." Looks like this month is a pause... Last month was a pause because I wasn't interested in Wizard of Legend. I did get Novemeber for "Hollow Knight" and was glad that I got "7 days to die" with it.
I have been linux only for about 10 years now. Early on, I did use WINE regularly. (The most recent use of WINE was for a MMO that I stopped playing 2 years ago.)
The mention of Denuvo, reminds me that titles that had heavy DRM always used to fail in WINE. 10 years ago, if a program failed in WINE, 50/50 chances were that a "CRACK" would allow it to work fine.
Even with WINE/Proton, DRM is one more reason why I don't buy windows games. (Not that it can't exist on linux, but steam based "online DRM" doesn't cause my games to regularly fail.)

Found the culprit. Was running steam as flatpak. Steam native works :) Thanks for the help!
Update: Got it running with flatpak steam as well. It needs "--share=network" as a parameter :) Flatpak sandbox ftw :)
