"After two decades, Nightdive Studios is rebooting and re-imagining the original System Shock. We will keep the new game true to the classic experience, keeping all the things you loved while giving today's gamers the modern look and feel expected from a great game."

While they've faced some delays, their most recent Kickstarter update makes a 2019 release sound probable. Totally missed the Adventure Alpha 1st Look video!

In The Valley of Gods - Valve (Campo Santo joined Valve) - Possibly not in 2019

“From the team that brought you Firewatch, In the Valley of Gods is a sprawling narrative experience in remote, 1920s Egypt. You are Rashida, a disgraced former explorer and filmmaker given one last shot at the adventurous life you desperately miss. Somewhere, beyond the endless miles of dunes, ruins, and tombs lies an incredible archaeological discovery—but it can't be found without the help of Zora, the former partner you vowed never to work with again.”

Obviously, I'm hardly scratching the surface of what to expect this year. This is nothing more than a peek behind the curtain! It’s going to be a wild ride and we’re no doubt going to have plenty of surprises.

What are you most excited to see gain official Linux support this year?

Insurgency: Sandstorm is probably my anticipated title this year, and I dare hope the System Shock reboot can turn out fine. We all know by now that We Happy Few didn't end up being a great game despite the promising concept and visuals, but I still hope it might be good enough for me to spend cash on. I'll need to read the reviews real good before making a decision.

Other than that, I really hope there's some good open world RPG style games in store for us that we don't know about yet. Hellpoint looks cool on paper, but there's something about that trailer that tells me this is another "could have been" title if the budget had allowed it. It just looks so... Cheap.

I wonder if Metro Exodus will be available.
Nevertheless Jan 1, 2019

A year should be long enough..

I'll be waiting for Proton improvement as well. I hope more games which aren't playable with Proton or Wine now will be able to run on Linux. For example, Resident Evil 2 remake whose Crapcom Engine isn't Linux-friendly.

Also, DUSK. I finished it today, and it's definitely the best game of 2018 for me. The devs confirmed Linux and Mac support coming this year.

In The Valley of Gods - Campo Santo - Possibly not in 2019

Is it correct to say that it's by Campo Santo? Because it's a Valve game now :P

They're still the developer.

But Valve bought the studio. Campo Santo doesn't really exist anymore.

Well the Steam store page still states it's Campo Santo and just because they joined Valve doesn't mean they automatically take Valve's name.

But if you go on the Valve homepage they list ITVOG as one of their own games. The guys work at Valve HQ. Other people from Valve might even have joined the team. It's a Valve game :P

It's pretty amazing as is. As of today, 3400+ games are gold or platinum ranked, and the funny thing is most games I'm using Proton for are bronze or silver ranked, so think of how many of those (probably another 1500 or so) are good too. So probably almost 5000 Windows games are playable right now, in addition to our how many native? 3500 or 4000? That's a LOT of games!!

The list above is great. I'm hugely looking forward to Insurgency: Sandstorm and one that didn't make the list, X4. And I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm really, actually looking forward to Serious Sam 4 too. Also not on the list above was a Restaurant Tycoon sort of game (sorry, don't remember the title) that's on my radar too...

You're probably right. It's different every time, as some developers retain their name with the new owner acting as publisher. In this case, it's likely the Steam page needing updating.

I'm definitely looking forward to Hellpoint, Jupiter Hell, We Happy Few, Indivisible and SS4 (of course!). Still got a load of unplayed games from the recent Steam sale, plus several LEGO games to play with my daughter :-)

I am definetly looking forward to the full release of Ion Maiden. It gets a lot of things right that many modern games don't and it is based on Eduke32 and the Voidpoint team consists of community members.

I doubt it, their steam page says this:

Campo Santo was the developer of Firewatch and is now the team behind In the Valley of Gods at Valve.

I'm looking forward to Psychonauts 2, Tropico 6, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, where I am most enthusiastic about psychonauts.
