ATOM RPG, the impressive classic Fallout-like experience is set for a massive update on March 20th and it sounds exciting.

Firstly, their English translation is set to be overhauled. It was okay but it could certainly do with improvements. They're aware of this and so they've pulled in Scott Hamm who worked on Age of Decadence and Battle Brothers.

In addition to this, they're also expanding the game once again. Not just with official features but also giving the community some control with modding support and mod creation tools.

On top of that we can expect to see various "quality of life" improvements suggested by players, new AI abilities, weapon tweaks, "tens" of new characters with unique portraits and dialogue, a new quest-line with two opposing factions, stability improvements to the game, new visual effects, new graphic elements like "status icons, items, game art", new locations and so on. You get the idea, they've been working on a lot of additions since releasing the game.

Despite the rough edges, it is a pretty good indie RPG worth checking out and it seems they're just going to continue making it better—awesome!

You can find it on GOG and Steam.

While I really appreciate the post-release support, it does make one wonder how they draw the line between "In Development", and "Released".

I wonder how they're handling modding support and the GOG version?

That's great news. I played through the game once and was waiting for a good time to do a second playthrough.

Remember playing the first one on Wine long time ago without any issue (probably the GoG version), you may want to give it a try.

I felt lured into buying this game by the good reviews that it spawned, but at the current state is barely playable with little to no content, a few incredibly frustrating features that mimic fallaut in the wrong places. Game is a grind fest of uninspired approximation. I had lost interest in it after only a few hours in game, after realizing the game was incredibly streamlined and basically impossible to play other than with one very specific character build. No Role-play, no meaningful interactions, no interesting story here. Also the game is set on rails even if technically "free-roaming".
So i take this news as good news, because, maybe, the mods could make this game worth playing, as per now it is not.

great and good thing to open to other cultures, other sounds, other states of minds and modes of reflection. Welcome to the real world, which is far not only English speaking even if economy, sciences, teaching, etc. are pushing hard for every people on earth speak it (who said linguistic -and-by-the-way cultural- colonization?).
