Today we have the first bug-fix update for DXVK since the big 1.0 last month. It's not a huge release but as always it's a good one.

Here's what's changed from the short release notes:

  • Fixed memory allocation failures on Intel Bay Trail (#947)
  • Fixed regression that broke DXGI gamma control (#937)
  • Devil May Cry 5: Enabled d3d11.relaxedBarriers option by default to improve performance
  • Star Wars Battlefront (2015): Report Nvidia GPUs correctly to fix driver version error (#968)
  • Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5: Work around dark rendering issue on Nvidia GPUs (#956)
  • World of Warcraft: Fixed GPU hangs on Nvidia GPUs since game patch 8.1.5 (#964)

As always, you can follow it on GitHub.

Certainly an impressive project, one I have no doubt has changed quite a few Linux users gaming habits. From getting a few extra games working on Wine, to Valve surprising everyone by bundling it into their new Steam Play system. I imagine it's helped a number of people switch to Linux who were previously on the fence.

Random question, but did Valve give Philip access to ALL Steam games, so that he can test the games for bugfixing and stuff?

So, Philip is better now? I've read news that he was hospitalized...

Where did you read that?!

He probably have some kind of "steam developer access" where valve just let him install any game from steam to work with. It wouldn't make sense for him to buy all the games he need just to check for some specific bug.

i dont think he does
cause when i told him use a crack copy of Tekken 7 to fix it, he banned me from his github

Yes, but that's not really what should be discussed here.

I banned you from my github because a) I do not tolerate promotion of piracy, and b) that wasn't even your first or only offense.

I think that people are just worried about the bus factor here (while honestly being worried for you). Could be far worse, I once had a CEO that told me that I was a liability to the company due to my competency "everything would go to hell if you left or where hit by a car so I see you as a liability". Yes I left some what close in time after that and yes that company does not exists any more.

You have to admit that advertising cracks in public to someones who works for a company that earns a living by providing a platform for selling games is really not that smart, even if you just wanted to help ;)

PS: Just to be sure that my statement isn't misunderstood, I'm grown up now and I have left pirating games some 20 years ago.

Back on topic: Thanks a lot for the new version, the development pace (including drivers, wine, faudio, d9vk etc.) is still astonishing, I'm really curious where we are at the end of 2019...

Well, you're a sort of heroe. So we care about you.

Joke aside, many thanks for your amazing job.

Except that I'm stuck in Overwatch because of this fantastic job :P

So where my offences other than the crack ?

So where my offences other than the crack ?

Aside from rude behaviour you mean? You repeatedly opened issues without giving any problem description. Is Philipp supposed to guess what the problem is?

Please take any issues you have like this elsewhere, this is not the place to debate it.

Philip, could you say me what are you gain from Wizzard when you help Wine users to play their games? Blizzard sell games and make benefits from them, do you have some arrangements with Blizzard ?
