Wow, ask and you shall receive? I only sent Humble a message in the last few weeks asking about a new Humble Indie Bundle and they delivered! The Humble Indie Bundle 20 is officially live.
Included in the PWYW (pay what you want) tier:
- The First Tree
- Tangledeep
- Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition
If you decide to pay more than the average:
- Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy
- Tooth and Tail
- Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
Finally, if you pay at least $10 you will get:
- Overgrowth
Overall, that's actually a pretty good selection of games and since it's one of their classic-styled bundles all of the games support Linux too. Not only that, each game has a DRM-free build as well as a Steam key.
Fantastic to see Humble go back to their roots, as they were one of the first to push Linux support with these bundles (they even got games ported back in the day, I was one of their original beta testers).
Check out the full bundle here.
Quoting: GuestWow, that is indeed (and unfortunately, I have to say) unexpected. I really had given up on HB by now. But then there came HIB 20. Sometimes it's nice being proven wrong :)I agree wholeheartedly...
So I of course decided to get this (I have all the other ones IIRC), but TBH they almost made me cancel that decision again. Trying to tweak the payment details (where your money goes) is a major PITA, really. Change one option, all the others change, too. It takes MANY iterations to set things the way you want it :><: Finally managed, pressed OK - and was confronted with a chimney-selection-captcha. F***, don't you want my money, or what? Sorry for the rant (even more as it's rather useless here :|), but a nice user experience looks different....
Now let's hope that at least the games are fine. Some I don't know at all, but that had sometimes been the ones I liked most in previous HIBs. And that is one of the nicest things about those bundles - getting games that you wouldn't consider to buy separate, just to find out they are really gems.
I do miss the good old days, where everything was a indie spectacular. And there was no need to check for linux support, as all the original Humble Indie Bundles had support for linux on all the games. I was afraid that was going away completely when they sold out to IGN.
This particular bundle does bring back memories of the bundles of the past.
And yes, quite often, an overlooked title within one of the indie bundles turns out to be a real gem. HOWEVER, I'm still not going to get Dream Daddy. :D

However, in the higher tiers, I had all the games except Dream Daddy Sim, which isn't really something I would have played. Pretty much a perfect bundle for me then ;)

Why? It's a good game.
It's cute, it's got some real heart (the relationship to your daughter, for example, is a part of the story). And yes, a good selection of diverse guys and their kids to get to know.
Seriously, it's a nice comfort game for a lazy Sunday or somesuch.
If anyone would like "Among the Sleep - Enhanced Edition" Steam Key send me a PM and you can have it.
Quoting: GuestTBH, I had been thinking down the same road - the name just sounded too no-no.
So thanks for the comment, now I'll (at least) have a look at it!
I wouldn't be keen on playing it because I'm neither into dating sim nor into visual novel...
- The First Tree
- Getting Over It

I'd happily take this.
Quoting: buckysrevengeAmong the Sleep has been on my wishlist for a while, no excuse now I guess :-)Same here. Nice surprise. :D
However it would be nice to get the game DRM Free. I hope the recent changes in GOG rules mean that we'll receive some interesting third-party bundles with GOG keys soon.
