If you're like me and you love first-person shooters you're likely excited to try out SIGIL, the free megawad from John Romero. Announced in December last year, SIGIL is supposed to be an unofficial spiritual successor to the fourth episode of DOOM, with it picking up where the original ended.
Originally due out in February, they've had some issues shipping the special fan boxes you could order that contained all sorts of goodies. In a statement on Twitter, Romero mentioned that the game is actually done but they can't release the free version until people that paid see it first.
On the official SIGIL website, there's also now this update:
UPDATE April 7, 2019: Due to a delay in physical production of some of SIGIL's pieces, fan boxes will ship in the first week of May. The free megawad will be made available one week after fan boxes begin shipping so paying customers can play SIGIL first.
So sometime around the second week of May, it should be available to download for free for everyone. Unless there's another delay or whatever.
As a reminder, it should work perfectly fine on Linux with GZDoom which itself is even mentioned on the official site in the little Q/A interview when you scroll down a bit.
The normal box isn't as cool imho, plus it's still a hefty 40 US$... but the free version doesn't include the inevitably epic Buckethead soundtrack. Oh well.
At least it's coming soon! ^_^
Quoting: dpanterStill a bit miffed about the 166 US$ price tag on the limited edition Beast box. It would have been very, very, very nice to have that stunning piece of box art on my shelf. Had my finger on the trigger many times back in December, but the price stayed my hand each time. :S:

No, $166 is for a collectable merchandise box which includes the game wad.
Quoting: razing32WAITThey ran a super limited pre-order 2 week run in December for the extra luxurious Beast box. Beside the Beast box being impossibly epic, there was also a whole bunch of excellent stuff included like a signed print, T-shirt, pewter statue and much more.

Still 166 dollarinos no matter how you slice it. Curse my cheap ass! :)
