UNIGINE announced earlier this month an update to their UNIGINE 2 Engine powered Superposition benchmark tool, with new features in the free version. This update was announced on April 12th, which we missed!

Superposition benchmark 1.1 now includes a free interactive VR mode, which was previously locked down to their paid editions. It supports multiple HMDs including SteamVR and as of this release they also said this now includes Linux users in the VR features too which is awesome.

Additionally, they noted it includes "improved hardware detection algorithms" and support for some insane resolutions up to "16384 х 16384". It is an impressive tool and certainly a fun way for the UNIGINE team to show what their engine is capable of.

You can download it free to stress-test your system here. We also have a long-running forum post here to compare your scores with other Linux users.

Hat tip to velemas.

Would love to test out this benchmark but unfortunately I have never been able to get it to run. Valley and Heaven benchmarks work though.

Nice to see the engine get fresh updates though and should I invest in VR I would like to test this out as I am waiting for valve to announce their Steam VR kit.

This has vulkan api right?
Is unigine used for anything other than their benchmarks these days? Last I recall it was pretty rare to see a game, let alone a AAA game, running with it.

No. Unigine is (on Linux) OpenGL only.
