I will admit, I almost missed Risk System thinking it's just another retro-looking shoot 'em up but upon closer inspection it actually looks and sounds pretty damn good.
The trailer they put out for their launch is pretty awesome too (see below). Not just that, it seems the full opening is entirely retro-Anime art with fantastic music too. The production value that's gone into this seems to be a lot higher than your usual shoot 'em up and I don't remember hearing about it before.

What's also quite interesting is how the gameplay wants you to not just barrage your enemies with lasers, it wants you to get close—really close. You can absorb enemy fire, so the closer you are the more energy you get and doing so can give you a powerful "Risk Shot" and enemies destroyed this way power up your shield. Sounds pretty unique to me!
Just be aware they put out an announcement that the Linux version may have audio troubles on some systems.
Yes I keep my discovery list up to date... For curiosity and since it's not a gargantuan task on Linux...
Usually.
Might just be a Steam bug... Or Stadia? ;)
Edit: A normal flow, for my preferences (because I filter out all Windows only games), is about 5 to 10 new games a week approx. I didn't do any analysis or research, it's just an observation.
