SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech mixes things up, again, as this time it's a roleplaying card game and it's releasing on May 31st. Currently, they've only said it will be on Steam so far.

SteamWorld Quest originally released first on the Nintendo Switch, where it has gone onto receiving plenty of high praise. This makes me happy, considering I also enjoyed the previous games.

The press email was very clear on platforms too "Coming soon to Windows, macOS and Linux!", so there's no need to guess with this. Not surprising though, since Image & Form Games have supported Linux nicely with the previous SteamWorld games but it's still great to see it confirmed.

More about it:

SteamWorld Quest is the roleplaying card game you’ve been waiting for! Lead a party of aspiring heroes through a beautifully hand-drawn world and intense battles using only your wits and a handful of cards. Take on whatever threat comes your way by crafting your own deck choosing from over 100 unique punch-cards!

What awaits you is a luscious treasure chest filled with gold, dragons, vivid worlds, magic, knights in shining armor as well as XP, turn-based battles and all that good RPG stuff! The game’s humorous mix of traditional fantasy and steampunk robots makes for an unforgettable experience with lots of laughs.

After a great many eye-burning nights playing Slay the Spire, my next card game fix could very well be this. I've put in a request for a review copy, as it does look great.

If interested, hop on over to Steam and follow/wishlist it.

Looking sexy, I hope they'll release on GOG too at some point. I've yet to finish SW: Heist but completely scraped both 'Dig' games.

I am definitely hyped, I am a fan of their SteamWorld brand with SteamWorld Heist being my favorite. Can't wait to see what amazing game Image & Form has made this time! <3

Well well well.

I am not interested in a "card" game. But, then again, I am not a big fan of procedural generation and SteamWorld Heist turned out brilliant. I will wait and see what the reviews say.

I have loved all their other games. Maybe this one can change my mind.

Edit:

Looks like it is already on the switch and has good reviews:

The first line gives me hope:
"Despite being full of cards, SteamWorld Quest doesn’t feel like a card game."

Partly off-topic:

Just because SteamWorld has an area named Vectron, I have to leave this here...

Card games don't appeal to me either but I loved playing all their other games so maybe I'll give it a go!

I'm not particular for card games, but I like the IP, so I'll probably give the genre a go now :)
