Funded on Kickstarter, Starmancer really looks like it's coming along nicely and they had a trailer to show off during E3.

This is another I've written about before, because I absolutely love space sci-fi and during the Kickstarter campaign it did have a Linux prototype building demo available which had a good feel to it. It's currently in Alpha, which became available to backers in April which continues Linux support at the early stages which is great.

This is one I personally helped to fund, although only at a normal level so I likely won't be taking a look at the Alpha or Beta. It's going to be quite a detailed game with plenty of complexity, so you will be managing all sorts of resources and getting everything wired up, while also dealing with space pirates!

Feature Highlight:

  • Build a space station, with tons of customization.
  • Manage the lives of colonists aboard your station.
  • Interact with a dynamically generated solar system and its inhabitants.
  • Take on missions and be rewarded with loot.
  • Face the consequences of your actions.
  • Modding support.

I will be very interested to see how it compares with Space Haven, which I do have early access for and I'm already very impressed by it. They both have very similar themes, although Space Haven still seems quite different since your station is a moving ship.

Starmancer also now has a fresh Steam page up, so you can hop along and wishlist/follow.

Hmm... that trailer made it seem like it could be rogue-like. I hope not.

I'm hyped for this one because it definitely seems like "RimWorld in actual space" and the art style appeals to me a lot.
