It's the end of another busy week for Linux gaming, for many people the weekend is filled full of games.

For me, I shall be likely diving into some more Total War: THREE KINGDOMS. It's not perfect but it's by far the nicest Total War game I've tried in a very long time. Feral Interactive have done some incredible work on the optimisations for the Linux version that I remain very impressed.

I shall also be booting up my old friend Polychromatic, as I desperately try to beat the score of our contributor Samsai. Such a maddeningly streamlined twin-stick shooter, it's frustratingly good at killing me when I feel like I'm finally doing well.

So dear readers, what play button are you clicking on across this weekend and what do you think about it?

don't have much time to play on the weekend, but a little bit...

RAGE 2 - Works amazing with proton, once i disable the AsyncCompute from settings.ini it doesnt freeze either. Sadly i completed the main story line too fast, but there are still plenty of things to do in the game

If i get some time i want to continue with...

Call Of Juarez: Gunslinger - Another flawless game under proton and with D9VK its performing 3x the regular wined3d.

Probably playing a bit of Warhammer Online also with the help of wine. Quite fun for some RvR action.

Sadly no native games currently on my horizon, but want to get back into Volcanoids as soon as they drop the multiplayer.

Quoting: Alm888I am ashamed to admit, but it is "Pathologic 2" for me this weekend.

It is not available for Linux (albeit working on WINE 4.9 vanilla), currently features only one of the three planned(?) storylines and buggy as hell (memory leaks and freezes. Yes, on Windows it is the same; I've checked against some walkthroughs on YouTube. Disabling shadows help a lot), but playable (in 1024x768 virtual desktop) even on my humble GPU.

It is a shame this game is not available on Linux (and, as usual, I am not persuading anyone into spending money on a Windows game), because the atmosphere is there and the writing has improved a lot since the original.
Kinda amazed you're willing to admit this after your rants at me for covering a game played with Steam Play...

The only reason I play this is because I am a backer and received my GOG copy from Kickstarter. It is a shame that the project is basically a flop and we will not receive the game promised.

P.S. Please, note that I never was against WINE per se and using it to play pre-owned Windows games (and in case of this Kickstarter, the damage has already been done, so no point to restrict myself from salvaging at least something out of that mess). I am only against promoting Proton™ as a legitimate way of spending money without any, even the most flimsy, evidence a game will come to Linux or its developers care at all.

Fair enough. I did email them to see what's going on as it was supposed to support Linux - no reply.

As for Proton, you already know my thoughts :)

Quoting: etamNew expansion of Kerbal Space Program. I bought KSP early, so I get all expansions for free :)

Same here. Bought the two DLCs yesterday. So far I've been playing a couple of scenarios, and they're surprisingly fun. Gives you a more focused goal than the usual free-form playing experience. I love this game!

For me it's ALL about...

And it'll remain that way for a very, very, VERY long time. Exploring every nook and cranny, enjoying every minute of it.

I believe, the "We're looking into it currently. Stay tuned." is their most recent reply on these.

I am pessimistic, though. The company is in a bind: they were financially forced to release what effectively is a one third of the game "as is" in order to stay afloat and not shut down entirely. Basically, the very future of the game depends on the initial sales… Alas, I do not see the game making enough noise on the launch. :( And from the impressions I managed to gather from GOG forums, people are doubtful: they fear the rest of the game will be sold as separate DLC's and are not ready to buy "unfinished" product. Sadly, the developers are staying silent on the matter. At least, the reviews from the owners are positive.

Redoing Rise of the Tomb Raider Again.
Just gone through all TR's in order to get here.
All in prep for ferel's Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Have played SotTR on Proton but was a little stuttery for me.

I started playing Fallout 4, but Dogmeat remembered me too much my beloved dog who passed away that I had to stop: seeing someone harming him makes me mad. It's very strange, never felt this feeling because of a videogame.

As an alternative I want to play Outward, hoping that there aren't pets.

Please Note:
Fallout 4 works well out of the box using Proton only if you use a gamepad, otherwise you'll have problems with mouse spinning or jumping
