Absolutely any excuse for a sale and since the Summer holidays are coming to a close, GOG have decided to do a back to school sale. Yes, nothing says school like buying more games.
I'm not complaining of course, sales are good for our wallets. At least this time around, what GOG have discounted does include some good Linux games!
Some picks for you of good games with a nice discount:
- Monstrum - 79% off
- SOMA - 75% off
- Firewatch - 75% off
- >observer_ - 70% off
- BATTLETECH - 66% off
- The Final Station - 66% off
- Surviving Mars - First Colony Edition - 66% off
- Tower of Time - 60% off
- Dead Cells - 33% off
Plenty more of course, just random picks above of stuff I personally like. Lots of different genres and DLC going cheap. See the full list of Linux games currently on sale on GOG here.
GOG's sale runs until September 6th, 1PM UTC.
If you missed it, Humble Store also has DiRT Rally going free with their big sale and Two Point Hospital is free to try on Steam for a few days. All that and more in the previous article.
Quoting: Liam DaweQuoting: CyrilIn the era of Epic Store, which doesn't support Linux, I must admit I am still somewhat surprised people actually *want* another client. At least for GOG, you can download direct from the site or use Lutris or a number of other open source download/update tools for it.Quoting: toorWell... I'll pass. After waiting for years, still no gog galaxy. My money will go to stores where they support linux more seriously
Galaxy have macOs support and yet there are still missing macOS releases for certain games.
What do you think mac users are saying?
Like I already said, Galaxy it's not the holy grail. I seriously think even with Galaxy on Linux, we would still have missing Linux releases.
I'm perplexed by this as well, and have stated so many times. The longer GOG remains Galaxy-FREE for Linux, the better. I know Steam is pushed pretty hard around these parts, but I never want to use a client, which is the main reason I still buy from GOG (despite their many flaws). Plus games being DRM-FREE of course, another great boon for them.
Picked up 2 games - one for me and another for my wife. May GOG stay strong forever.

Try out GameHub. Merges GOG and Steam libraries and if you are using a Windows game in Linux, can leverage Proton, DOSBox, and ScummVM for non native games.
