The DRM-free store GOG are currently doing a bit of patting themselves on the back with a sale celebrating their Community Wishlist feature.
Allowing gamers to suggest, discuss and vote on games they want to see come to GOG it's a pretty fun feature for a curated store to have. GOG say they have completed "over 2 million wishes" and they have "no plans on slowing down" with it. They of course can't fulfil every wish, but it's a good way for them to see what classics people want revived.
For Linux gamers, there's not a massive amount on sale but right now here's a few choice picks for you:
- Full Throttle Remastered - 75% off
- Turok - 75% off
- Theme Hospital - 75% off (use CorsixTH)
- Grim Fandango Remastered - 74% off
- Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition - 66% off
- Star Trek: 25th Anniversary - 66% off
- Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition - 66% off
- The Dig - 65% off
- Alien Rampage - 50% off
- RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Triple Thrill Pack - 49% (use OpenRCT2)

GOG's Games Come True Sale runs until August 26th, 1 PM UTC.

Quoting: Xpandernot gonna buy anything from them before we are getting treated equally to other platformsYou mean you want to get spied on like on the other platforms. The mere existence of Galaxy brings more telemetry to games, even if you use the offline installers.

yes, i want to take advantage of their multiplayer features and automatic game updates and i don't really care about telemetry. + their new GoG Galaxy (invite only beta version) apparently supports steam and other launchers also, which on paper sounds good if all the things can be in one place.

yeah, too bad they ignore the wish that has the most votes (by a LONG stretch) on the galaxy wishlist :/
As has been said - once galaxy is finally availiable on linux, i'll happily buy on GoG again.

More bees with honey and all that. I can't imagine linux is a major player for GoG or any gaming storefront really, I would think being the vocal minority in this case is more likely to get them to officially drop support for linux as opposed to increase their support for it. Be vocal AND supportive imho, that's what gives opinions weight.

Certainly the Galaxy software is not available for Linux. However GOG had invested a lot in Linux players for several years now: availability of Linux game version when they are available, DOS games packaged with Dosbox for Linux etc ...
They deserve more respect from Linux community.

From what I hear from developers, GOG also updated their tooling in the last ~two months to enable developers to use the proper upload tools for Linux builds just like Windows/Mac have. A good step forward. Perhaps even a needed step towards Galaxy, but we're certainly not being forgotten by them.

Did you hear anything from developers regarding GOG not providing statistics on downloads per platform? This seems to be a major blocker for the likes of Feral and Virtual Programming to release Linux ports on GOG, since they are supposed to be paid per platform.
I tried reaching to GOG support directly, and they said if developers have this problem, they should contact them. I.e. they didn't want to explain why they aren't currently providing it.
