Little Red Dog Games (Precipice, Deep Sixed, Rogue State) have announced Rogue State Revolution, what they say is the "first" political roguelike game.
It's being published by Modern Wolf, a new indie publisher who doesn't believe in crunch who say they treat their developers "like partners, not like cogs in a machine".
Rogue State Revolution places you in charge of Basenji, a mostly stable Middle Eastern republic. As the president, you must juggle the demands of the voters while developing the nation economically. Oh, and don't forget your council of ministers, many of whom are entirely loyal to you... if only you knew which ones.
Designed for 3-4 hour play sessions, a game of Rogue State Revolution will feature dynamically generator neighbors, ministers, and economic and political considerations. No two playthroughs will be the same, and each run can unlock new content as you stay in power longer. The coup is coming: can you keep your wits about you and hold onto the presidency?
It's actually a sequel to their 2015 game Rogue State, which doesn't support Linux. Rogue State Revolution only currently mentions Windows on the publisher's website and Steam, which the developer said on Twitter is "An oversight. We are 100% going to release on Linux."—excellent!
Doesn't seem to have a trailer yet, will let you know when it does. They're also continuing to use the FOSS game engine Godot Engine, really nice to see!
You can wishlist and follow Rogue State Revolution on Steam, due to release sometime in 2021.

Rogue State did support Linux... kind of. Being an AGS game, if you used a copy of the AGS runtime for Linux with it, it ran. Needed Steam stub libraries as I recall, and performance was absolutely awful, but it ran.I get what you're saying and while interesting, that's not support :P
