Nimbatus is all about piecing together blocks in the hope of creating a drone that's not terrible, with the ability to make them autonomous or have direct control of everything it's a very cool game.

A few days ago the released the Campaign Update (0.7.3) and it's huge. Before this, the campaign mode was pretty simplistic but it has been expanded quite a bit now with different captains, progression through unlocking drone parts, travel events, asteroid fields, drone skins and more.

With that, the game is now split into three different modes: Competitive, Campaign and Creative and you can see some highlights in the below video:

This is an absolutely massive change, it feels like a different and much more complete game overall thanks to this and I honestly can't wait to see them expand it.

I've been testing it out a fair bit with the various captains, each giving you a different set of starting blocks which makes the feel of them a little unique. The Linux version continues to run beautifully, so it's another Kickstarter success story in my books and it makes me glad I personally backed it. Full patch notes can be found here.

You can grab it from Humble Store and Steam. To celebrate such a large update, both stores currently have it on sale and I can easily recommend this one. A huge amount of fun!

Such a smooth and satisfying game, but felt a bit barren and sandboxy in its first release, so I only got a couple of hours out of.it before moving on.

Can't wait to give this another shot!

Indeed. I need to revisit it myself. This is great news.
