Here's some of the highlights of what you can find for Linux:

I sure like the theme - quite underlined by the fact that I already have all the listed titles that's not "retro" in style. :)

I have to say I enjoyed Rise just as much as the first one. Reviews aren't bad either, so I must not be the only one. But I'd suggest you get Tomb Raider (2013) first simply because it's the cheapest and the first in the reboot series.

I too very much enjoyed the second one, don't get the problem some people have with it. Overall, a good amount of fun.

I can seriously recommend Analogue: A Hate Story and Hate Plus (which is a sequel/prequel, and should be played after the first one).

I guess I can also recommend Ladykiller in a Bind, but that one's a bit more...specific :P

Anniversary.

At this point I don't know why Steam even bothers hiding their sale dates, given none of them are really a big surprise. Hallowe'en sale will take place....over Hallowe'en. Winter sale over Xmas/New Year's. Autum sale between the two. Pretty much the same as always.

For some reason, I have most of these games already! :D

Still not too many games other than Tomb Raider with strong female leads around, even in 2019... :S

But have you not heard that the mighty SJW:s have forced all gaming publishers to only make games with female leads since 2014!

If I were to guess, legal reasons. If they'd announce it openly and in advance, I'd imagine it doesn't count as a "sale", and they might have to adjust the regular price instead. IANAL, just my theory.

If you don't mind proton pick up Underworld (protondb: gold) and Anniversary (platinum), they are dirt cheap and very decent games.
edit: Legend (gold) is also nice

Heh, there certainly have been some debates about that issue. Apparently it didn't help all that much. Tomb Raider existed before 2014, and that's still the only truly major franchise featuring a female lead I am aware of. Other than that, there have been some rare one-hit-wonder gems like Life is Strange (it's successor-by-name-only features boy characters, so I don't count that as a female-lead franchise), Horizon or Hellblade, but in the end, video games are still largely made by men for men.

Who actually cares about the gender of a lead protagonist? It does not make a game better or worse or more or less appealing. I could play a nonbinary trans unicorn and still have a really good time even though I'd have nothing to identify with. And also I always play the german campaign when there is one even though I am not a nazi, that is because a protagonist is (most often) not meant to be someone to identify with.

Look up all the posts made on the Internet when the Battlefield V trailer appeared in 2018, but only do it if you really want to loose your faith in humanity.

Apparently somebody cares. If not, you'd expect protagonist gender being picked randomly and thus the distribution between male and female leads should be 50/50 - but with the overwhelming majority of all games using male protagonists, you can't really argue it's random. The question is really why in 2019 it apparently still matters enough to systemically prefer male over female characters...

And to be honest, when Lara Croft was new, she was famous (even among non-gamers AFAIR) for their huge secondary sexual characteristics. Not sure if this was a good example for non-sexist games (back then).
