After a delay to both, Yacht Club Games have now announced that both Shovel Knight: King of Cards and Shovel Knight Showdown will release with Linux support on December 10.

Shovel Knight is a very popular side-scrolling platform inspired by the art-style and gameplay from the 8-bit era. It's a fantastic game and over time it has expanded quite a lot thanks to multiple free expansions. Shovel Knight: King of Cards is the next big expansion, and it's actually the final campaign in the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove saga.

It's going to include 4 new worlds and more than 30 all new courses, new enemies, new weapons, special Feats and Challenges stages and more. It's a big update! Check out the trailer below:

As for Shovel Knight Showdown, this one is a little bit different. Unlike the vast side-scrolling adventure campaign found in Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove, Showdown is a platform fighting game all about the duels. It will have a story mode and multiplayer with all classic Shovel Knight characters being playable, some for the first time too.

These battles can be one on one, frantic four player free-for-alls, co-op team battles against AI or friends and there's multiple game modes on offer too. Sounds like it's going to be a very fun platform fighter. See the full trailer below:

As for their upcoming Shovel Knight Dig, they're still not confirming what platforms it will be on. Once we have details on that, we will let you know.

Since King of Cards will be a free update for Shovel Knight you can pick it up right now to be ready for the new campaign. Available on Humble Store, GOG and Steam. No store pages up for Showdown yet.

Any game like this one, but with 16/32 bit graphics? (with coop)

I'm not into 8 bit ones...
